Was at ikea today at about 2pm. It was very busy but 'manageable' - the queues were pretty short at the tills - so i feel there were a lot of 'window' shoppers.

I was only there for about 1 hour which was too rushed - will be back to get a longer look when im less rushed.

I can recommend the 'ginger thins' tins @ £2 - assuming of course that you like ginger biscuits.
I used to have a signature with links to the League Tables for good/bad shipping charges for Northern Ireland. But I have since learnt that this is against site rules - so they are no longer here! PM me if you need them

Well I went over to Ikea tonight after work. Not that busy at all, not as busy as I have seen Glasgow and Gateshead previously.

Lovely store but the car park was a tad strange but I suspose its there or on the city airport runway ;)

Traffic was fine at 5pm, not as busy as I thought it was going to be, no queues apart from the traffic lights, only one in front at the tills. Was good as I was able to use a £10 off voucher I got through the family card :D

    Oh I love Ikea:D

WeeMo, I would go this week if you can as I would expect it to get busy from next week after Christmas and Jan.

I seem to think that Ikea has different sized beds and bedding to the standard UK stuff - their duvets and duvet covers are not compatible with ones you may already have.

If you check the sizes on the website the duvet cover options are 150cm X 200cm, 200cm X 200cm and 240cm X 220cm.
Dunelm mill has a link for sizes of UK bedding:
    http://www.dunelm-mill.com/cm/Bedding%20Buying%20Guide.htm

    Single 135x200cm
    Double 200x200cm
    King Size 230x220cm

So it looks like a double duvet cover might be compatible...

Ah -you are right- I do remember being told that -pillow cases are shorter I think too

    thanks for the reminder:T
  • Weemo - went Monday evening. Traffic no problem, lots of empty car parking spaces. It was quite busy in the store, but not so you'd be queuing all the way around [follow the arrows!]. Only slow bit was at the tills.

went this evening at 4.30. No traffic - plenty of carpark spaces. follow the arrows and the grey path and you will see everything in store. Tills ok- 2 in front of me. Went through quickly. Bring some bags if you're buying small stuff. A lot of people milling about - aimlessly it seemed...customers I mean- friendly staff. Typical IKEA.
Need to go back once Ive flicked through the brochure again.
    Great storage..loads of candles..nice lighting:T

anybody know anything about the ikea sale in Belfast?
if i had known then what i know now
  • No. Just checked their website for you and although there is a massive sale now on banner, no further info available when I click through. I reckon if you have a family card, they'll e-mail you.

  • As far as I know (& I work there) there's no January sale as the store only opened a few weeks ago with many opening offers.

Won't stop the visitors on Boxing Day though - expecting BIG numbers.
