Thanks guys - waves. Sorry I've been awol. Had a virus that's been going around. Not a good time of year mse wise either. I have paid £75 off one CC and £86 off another - so that brings me down to £25,526 owed but our EF is taking a hit with Xmas which I know is not what it's there for - oops. Better than new debt though...

  • Hope you are feeling better soon.

Your debt is coming down, every penny off is a good thing.

Your EF is also being used for Christmas and that's why there is an EF to help in times of needing a bit more money x

Thanks MF - I can just feel my DFD date drifting backwards currently which is a shame. To hit it I need to be so much more disciplined. The good news though is that our 0% deals on the cards I have left run until 2021 - so we won't have an interest penalty.

I get paid at the end of the week - but the day before I have a CC payment of around £170 going out as well as a large utility bill. I am due to get £100 in Christmas bonus on a gift card this week - so am still thinking about how best to use that.

I have gone through my xmas spreadsheet - and some people have been stripped out - unless I end up seeing them (older nieces and nephews). I've decided not to spend any more on 3 of my little nephews and niece on one side of my family. I've bought my single sis a xmas and birthday present. I still need to get something for one nephew and for the new arrival. I have a free m00npig card so will start with that. I have found some things in my present box I can give people at work so taken that off my planned spends. That leaves me mainly with £ gifts and an NT gift subscription to get for my parents and something for MIL.

DH and I have agreed to give each other the towel radiators we are having installed for most of our xmas present with some wrap ups - and any further £ being post xmas - unless the plumber can't fit us in. Need to text him to see when he can come.

My parents have asked me to get our presents from them - so I need to check the budget and finish sorting that. I bought a K1ndl3 f1r3 in the sale last week for OH from them for around £100 reduced from £150 - which will need to be shared with me probably - but I wanted him to have something nice. I was going to buy one for myself as I can't find mine but DH and DD both said they have seen it recently so I didn't. I also wanted to check out how big the 10" one felt to see if I wanted that size. It's now gone up £50 again... I am hoping it will come down again after xmas.

I am considering some kind of fitness watch for me to encourage me to walk more... but can't decide whether to go for a £27 one or a £50 one. I am struggling to spend on me I think... The things I want are a new bed for the guest room (c£500!!!), possibly a weighted blanket (£50-100) - but not sure what size to buy as think might want to adjust individually rather than share, new journals (although I have lots unused in my gift box), a shoe cupboard, a lamp I saw in 1kea, a mirror for £100 I saw in Dun**m that I would only feel I could justify if it was in a sale. Possibly some new clothes... As you can see my wants add up to too much money and I probably don't want them enough.

    Have fun all.

Lol at towel radiators! I got a washing machine as my present. Had enough for one, but it arrived not working so went up to the one I wanted which was an extra £130, so no ikea voucher for me.

I got a fitbit for my birthday this year and love it. I am planning on walking more and want to enter some sponsered walks so going to ask mum and dad to pay the entrance fees. Got to love getting older, xmas just isn't the same!

If you don't want them enough, then perhaps you shouldn't buy them? Christmas has definitely lost its edge since getting older!
