I'm struggling too. Looking forward to January once the festivities are over and I can get focussed and back on track. I've given up everything apart from minimums for the rest of the month.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Minimums/fixed payments mean the balance is still coming down, keep in mind how amazingly well you've done already. Keep going0

I don't think debt can be repaid in one gear. For me I had some months when I was in 5th gear and other months when I was barely moving. I still got there on time. Just keep goingIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Yes - this. SH you've done this previously - you know that the momentum WILL return - just keep things ticking over until that happens and you're no worse off, are you!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks GAP, Dancing, DIA and EH
I realised I am beating myself up unnecessarily - the top reason for not paying as much off this month is we are due to pay DS uni accommodation of £933 on the 31/12! Talk about bad timing.
Cheered up a bit today as towel radiators were fitted. We'd bought the wrong sizes and I had to go and swap 2 of the 3 and we'd bought the wrong type of valves so it ended up costing about another £35 to upgrade to bigger one but I am really pleased with it. That's assuming I get a refund on the original valves. We will need to paint behind the radiators in the xmas break but I have two weeks off so that should be fine. DH's radiator had stopped working and the plumber fixed that too.
Just one day left to work for me and then I have two weeks off - I can't wait. DH is only off the bank holidays and the 3 work days in between. DD came off her bike again yesterday and seems quite down so she skipped college today. Not sure if she is going in tomorrow or not.
DS is in Oz. He is fixed up at various friend's parents over xmas so should have a good spread. I gave him some silly wrap ups to take with him. I've pretty much sorted everyone's xmas present. May just buy a few charity shop books for MIL but other than that pretty much done.
Car service is due on Saturday - but really hoping that it is fully covered by the savings plan I have with the dealer.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
