Thanks EH MF and DAL
Well had more good news today. The Finance Consent order is approved so should get house to myself (plus DD) at some point on 19/11. Think Ex is in shock even though I have been using that date as a target for some weeks.
I am so relieved. Just had a beautiful walk with dog too.

Thanks EH - yes it finally is. I finished early today - rather distracted so I have time to make up at some point. Not long though now and then I should have more focus.
Eating leftovers I cooked at the end of last week for tea... Chicken, leek, onion, carrots, peas and jacket spud.
My mattress is getting worse faster - there's no longer anywhere comfortable so been mattress shopping. Not clicked the final button yet - but superking mattress for £519 (cheapest I liked was £550 a little while ago). This is half it's usual price so thinking of just going for it. Offer ends Tuesday. 20% deposit now and the rest a week before delivery. Thinking of putting on a CC for the protection and to smooth current bills...
However - I picked up a 2nd hand present for my nephews for xmas or birthday for £2 - so slightly saving there... A collection of books requested by my sis - got via FB.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I forgot to mention - that the mortgage £250 cashback gets sent with the completion funds - so that lowers how much have to find to pay equity to Ex. So that will help with the funding gap for the mattress.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just been catching up on the last few weeks. Great news re the house, getting so close now, really pleased for you and for the resolution of the other problem. Really pleased! Sounds like plans are all full steam ahead and that's great news too.
I would say, give yourself the first few months to figure out your budget once you have the house to yourself and definitely get some money from your daughter for travel. I remember in my early 20s being annoyed that my parents made me pay some rent, but a few years later I figured out how that was absolutely fair and I should have paid more! She might not like it in the short term, but long term it will teach her the value of money (and appreciation of you!).

Great news that the problem is resolved, and congrats on the weightloss too!
Nearly there with the house too, all is slotting into place and you should get a great night's sleep on your new mattress too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Brilliant news all round SH, so pleased for you.

I got some amazing photos recently and video too. My phone brings them up as reminders regularly so that is always nice.
Tried ringing the bed people and they aren't answering which is typical. In better news I have activated a 6 months 0% free on purchases for spends over £150 per transaction on an existing CC. This will mean that I can buy the bed - there's no hard searches on my file - and can still spread the cost. This could mean that I prioritise payment of my existing balance on the other card first (due March) and then pay this after - so allows me to keep a cash EF and still repay debt before it attracts interest. I can potentially use it for my car bills too if needed.
They reckoned the new mattress would come around the second week of December so that wouldn't be that long to wait. They want an initial deposit and then the balance a week before delivery. I just need them to answer the phone now...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I would be surprised if the mattress is suddenly getting worse. More likely that because so much stress is now being lifted from your shoulder, you are noticing things that you had ignored in the past, like an extremely uncomfortable bed!
As long as your new bed is yours only, you don't have to share it with anyone you do not wish to, and it can bring you happiness and comfort. Enjoy all the positiveness coming your way. 2022 is definitely going to be your year. What I do not give, you must never take by force.
