Sorry to hear about family member.
I share your frustration regarding the mortgage offer, although were passed that stage and being held up by solicitors now. The uncertainty is just so frustrating isn't it?!5 -
Thanks Jwil, HSL, GAP, MF and Welshkitty
Yes still in waiting for offer stage. I got all my statements submitted a few days ago HSL
GAP Definitely lots of bumps
MF comfort food is fab. Ex found meat in his freezer and put it in mine. He's gone veggie - at least 2 lots of mince and some chicken so that should help on operation lower grocery spend.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Had a good day off work overall yesterday. Saw counselor. Then went for carvery. It was yum. (Payday).
Went to an outlet mall and got 2 new flattering tops for £25.5. Very happy with that. I also bought some more colouring postcards, masks and journals from Am****. Just need to be good the rest of the month now.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Had a neighbour round for coffee earlier which was nice. She pointed out some of my guttering had come away from its socket. Ex has now fixed it which is a relief. I hadn't even noticed it...
Just done a big online food shop - in the hope that the rest of the month I just buy milk and a little fruit and veg. Most of it was store cupboard type stuff. Planning to batch cook and then freeze stuff. Make soups, chillis, cottage pie, spag bol etc. I've struggled to get my fave coffee and it is sold out on Am**** so bought 4 jars!
Still need to do my washing.
Just booked my MOT for £40 not the £54 I allowed in my budget. Just hope that there are no problems. My tyre warning hasn't come back - but only driven about 4 miles since I pumped them back up.
Planning to make myself do more decluttering later. Not even looked in DS's room since he moved out - and in the past he's left it like a bombsite... Cleaner has been though so maybe it will be okay. If I can I want to move some of Ex's clothes out of my room into DS's. That way I can move some of the stuff I got down out of the loft out of sight for now. I have 3 bin bags worth of stuff ready to donate to charity - just need to find time to drop it off.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You are doing so well savingholmes, making steady progress. Quite a few of our local CS still aren't taking donations, possibly down to lack of volunteers, and there's been large queues at the recycling centres, although maybe now the garden waste collections are back on that should be less of a problem. Covid really hasn't been great for us declutterers in some ways so we are doing well
Well done on the £40 MOT, I need to buy a couple of tyres and am trying to decide whether to go to my usual garage or to buy online at Kw1kfit who are conveniently open on Sundays and are right by the supermarket.

You're doing well and will keep on track.
Batch cooking is good, ingredients are controlled and made perfectly to your own tastes. Do tell us what soup is made as it gives us ideas too.
Would it be worth mentioning to friends and family things you're after, just in case they have it and don't use it or see about holding a swap shop one evening?
Good luck with the decluttering and MOT.

Thanks Sandy and MF
Well moved the last of Ex's clothes in to DS' room. Cleaner had ignored it so may ask her to do it when she comes. DD isn't home until next weekend so her room won't need doing. DS is popping back briefly next week...
My colouring postcards arrived so had fun colouring, partly while binge watching a problem solving series...
I've done one lot of washing. Need to do more tomorrow.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
