There's always something to do in a garden isn't there and your plans sound great!
Are you going to theme the craft boxes so they have something to work towards?
You've reminded to book the tree surgeon again, ours needs another hair cut...If it's not adding up, compound it!4 -
Hi Grogged.
Themed craft boxes could work... I have loads of card making materials, stick on items etc so could make some boxes up from that... May even have some boxes I could use... They are aged 3-7
Took a load of garden waste and other carp to the tip
Tipped out a container I had tried to use for potatoes last year and found some new potatoes. Going to check veg patch too.
Neighbour is giving DS 2 big bookcases for his new place so he is happy. He should be able to take them apart.
Defrosting some pre roasted beef for tea and doing roasties and veg...
So several mse wins.
Ex has gone to his mum's for the day so I have some peace. He's taken some pictures I had got DD to bubble wrap so landing clearer again.

Have just caught up on your diary SH, sorry to hear about the big changes but you sound really on top of things. There’s much worse ways to cope than nesting, reading about all the work you’re doing at home is making me want to do a bit! Take care xDebt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167

I feel I am taking a healthy approach. Very slowly losing weight. Not going mad with money or eating... It seems MSE ways are a lot more engrained than they use to be.

Well DS made a start on digging out bamboo. I took another car load of prunings to the tip - from mahonia, red robin and smoke bushes mostly. Then it poured down with rain. One of my neighbours cut a crab tree down massively which I am very happy about as it overhung my car. It also means the palm type tree she has can flourish and show off its splendour without being intergrown by the other tree which had reached bedroom height. I asked the neighbour on the other side if I could prune one of their trees in our shared border and mow the lawn as I was remortgaging soon... Very comfortable conversation - not... Ah well. It's done now and they said yes.
I got Ex to hang a new pair of blackout eyelet curtains in his room. I bought them half price for £20 a few weeks ago. They are a yellow gold colour and match the blue and yellow quilt cover. Before he had burgundy curtains in there which clashed with his quilt cover and the blue of the carpet... I want all the rooms to look good for the valuer - not just some... Ironically the curtains in the main bedroom (mine) are the ones I now hate the most. I haven't found any others I like for there yet - plus - I am convinced I have some curtains I prefer in the loft - DS just hasn't found them yet. I think I'll remind him to search for them...
Feel like I've been productive today but interspersed with rest breaks. Took DD to a shop - resisted going in myself. Unpacked and packed the dishwasher. Made roast potatoes and some veg to have with reheated beef. Plenty left to do but pacing myself. DD and DS have done their washing today, I have done some too - and need to put the second load in the dryer. Probably won't do another load in the wash tonight though as don't want the dryer on too late.
DD has to be at work tomorrow - over an hour away for 7.15!!! I am going into work tomorrow but thankfully not at that time. Looking forward to both my and DD's payday on Wednesday...

Wow sounds like a busy day, glad the tree has been cut back nothing worse than you're own garden being overshadow and it is an awkward conversation to have. I know I need to do it with 2 neighbours, the ones next door are lovely but I've never spoken to the others as their gardens backs on to ours so are on the next street.
We've got a neighbour about 3 doors down who has a humongous tree in their garden, we used to be able to see the hills that way but it's so huge now it blocks it all out.
Hope work is ok tomorrow and roll on pay day.

Sad when trees block a view of hills. One of our neighbours over the way cut down a tree and we can now see school fields where for years we couldn't... I'm not anti-trees - I just think in gardens they shouldn't be allowed to get out of hand...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yes agree, love the trees but it's just way too big for the garden!
My little cherry tree has grown this year but is overshadowed so need to make sure it gets the sun again in the spring.5 -
We're entirely surrounded by trees out one side, but they're on the communal green area and we love them! A huge Lime - the most beautiful shape and fabulous huge bright green leaves. A cluster of Silver Birch which just look so fabulous swaying about in the slightest breeze, and a smaller Lime, plus a few more small bits. then the woods across the road...we're thoroughly spoilt! It's very different when they're closer and overshadowing property/dropping sap onto cars though!

Sounds like you've had a really productive day. Our neighbour's front garden is so hugely overgrown. There are massive trees in a very small plot. It completely blocks our light and our front room is north facing too. I can't imagine how dark his is!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3
