The meeting I had was a gruelling. I ended up working 11 hours or so that day. Yesterday I worked a short day to compensate - but I was absolutely whacked. I've been paid - so soon DH will be sending £900 to the target CC. We definitely blew the budget yesterday - we're having a bit of a crisis and I moved some £ from our EF - but I had a couple of hours in a pub beer garden by myself and then invited DH to join me and we ate out without the kids.... Result. The sun shone initially although it did get steadily chillier.
Cleaner came yesterday and transformed the b0mb site that is our bedroom into something more reasonable. I think she hung up my clothes and stuff... who'd have thought that would make such a difference LOL. She worked her magic mainly upstairs. Ended up paying her an hour extra. DS cooked tea - but I just put it in the fridge for today - so that was nice of him. DD is trying to revise for her final exams. She had her second to last tutoring session. So one more lot of £35 to pay and then I'm done.
Our DFD date is now firmly going to be June at the earliest as we've relaxed the spending reins this month and I think that's likely to continue due to other pressures so - just trying to be kind to ourselves and practice some self care.
Hope you are all doing well. I will go and visit other diaries soon...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You have to look after yourself and if that means spending on meals out and other things, then do it. Your DF day will soon be here then that's one less worry, hopefully everything else will settle soon.

I agree with MF and jwil.

Self care definitely helped. Had a better day today. It's nearly the weekend. Yesterday I was just feeling completely overwhelmed. Hoping to do some painting at some point over the next few days. Can't write at the moment as no spare brain capacity but art is different... It helps give me a reset.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Today is a new day. Body clock has gone to pot. Been awake for a couple of hours now. Getting to sleep slightly earlier than before but not enough to compensate.

So many positives, what a great list. And the fact that you've paid nearly £10k off the debt and it's only April is phenomenal!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4
