Hi Savings. Sorry to hear that your friend is getting worse. Extremely scary times for all. But the good news is regarding the book, all steps in the right direction.
I know you like the cleaner to come and help out, so lets hope you feel comfortable enough to let her in. I know I had some reservations about her being in the house, but I was glad I persevered. But you have to do what you feel safest doing. Keep safe. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Thanks Tahlullah. C19 is getting very close to home as in the number of people I normally work closely with who have had it or have it now. So decided in the end to cancel. I already start a mental countdown clock every time a family member goes out and potentially has contact with others... The current advice is act as if you have it. If you do that - you won't see anyone... and will avoid going out. That makes sense to me - particularly given that 3 of us are significantly over-weight and then are other underlying conditions...
My friend's mum is potentially in a hospital car park in the north west because there's no hospital space... frightening. The ambulance crew told her family that when she was collected - if she was really lucky she will be on a corridor. Brings it home. Other family members who offered her care now have it... That's the bit the guidance doesn't address. How do you care for someone elderly who has it at home when they live alone normally without putting yourself at risk....
I've tried to distract myself today with book related stuff but not really working today... I tried listening to a story and that didn't work either... My £23 refund from the author website membership I paid earlier in the year has come...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It's very worrying isn't it. I'm just trying to hunker down and get us all stay at home as much as possible until things start easing again. This week is two weeks after New Year, so hopefully cases will start reducing after that and then further two weeks after the lockdown started. 🤞"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Today I will:
- Make garlic brined chicken with roast potatoes and veg
- Write my book
- Do some washing
- Get the family to help tidy and clean the house
- Walk the dog
Tomorrow a CC payment is due to go out - I don't have electronic access to that one so it's always a guestimate. Then that's it until payday. I have a grocery delivery Monday and Thursday with Mr A. I have one recurring slot - and one I am booking on top. It is definitely helping with budgeting and reducing over-buying. My tin cupboard pantry is re-balancing. It's really cold here but no snow. DH and I took pooch for a walk last night but it was so bitter and frosty we only went around the block.
I'm still planning a massive CC payoff in Jan as I want to capitalise on the £ saving impact of lockdown and just get clear of debt as quick as possible while I am still in the right frame of mind. DH was saying yesterday how much having guilt-free personal spends of £100pcm helped him stick to plan. It would be nice to up that once we are debt-free.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

We're having leftover turkey in gravy, plus trimmings.
Like everyone else hunkering down, we shop fortnightly, so Thursday at 0730 for us.
Pee'd off Amaz driver yesterday when refused to take in parcels for neighbours. 🙄
Hope your day goes well and fingers crossed for quick recovery of your friends mum and family. If it's not adding up, compound it!4 -

I've managed to join an author's only FB group - and it definitely helps as well as some others that might help with reviews, interviews, blog tours etc. One day I'll get on top of this marketing thing. Meanwhile if I could ditch procrastination....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Definitely take advantage of WFH and the costs saved to help pay down everything quicker.
