Thanks PF26, DIA, HSL and MF for your comments.
DIA - look forward to hearing about your progress. We are each going to do a weigh in tomorrow before we begin. I doubt I will post my weight on here though as it is very high but I could afford to lose 40-50% of my weight.... Scary to put that in writing. DS and DH are going to use shakes to help them stick to the 800 calories tomorrow. They would make me want to hurl so I won't be doing that. I need to work out some calorie counted meals that I can take with my medication. Will see how that goes and report back. Even if I majorly cut back it would be a result. DD was a bit nervous about it - so I suggested that she start by cutting out junk food for the days. It would be nice if we could all leave lockdown lighter rather than blobbier. I had a picture of Mr Bl0bby then pink with yellow spots!
I've been taking my HRT every other day this week - and other than struggling to sleep night one (which may not have been connected) I've not had any issues. I think I may just stop taking them altogether (which GP would prefer) and see what happens.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just booked some extra leave so am now off the rest of this week and next. I will try and use the time to get our house and garden 'straighter' and do more art and writing. The weather is fab currently too - not sure how long it will lastAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You could always make your own smoothie, my breakfast one is milk, banana and a scoop of oats, blitzed together. Just under 200 Cal's.
Also you can use tinned fruit (or fresh), fruit juice, blitz it together. Cal's depend on your fruit and juice.
Booking the time off to do house stuff was a good call, especially with the nice weather.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
If you end the lockdown pink with yellow spots SH I really WILL be worried!
We have both cancelled all our booked holidays for the time being and assume we will be cancelling the May fortnight as well - as it feels like a waste to use time off at the moment - if I still had masses of decluttering to do I might feel differently about it mind you!
In terms of activity while you are obviously limited with what you can do in terms of moving around, you can perhaps do stuff more related to upper body strength? A can of beans in each hand does a cracking job as a set of dumbbells, and things like punches (which you could do sitting) raise the heart rate. There are a fair few ideas out there and increasing overall body strength has so many advantages beyond simple muscle increase - especially for "women of a certain age" too. I know the more activity I can squeeze in - even quite gentle stuff - the better I tend to sleep.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks MF and EH
I may try the smoothie idea. I have tinned and some fresh fruit. I bought too many apples - so thinking may make some kind of apple puree to use as apple sauce or the base for a crumble at some point (and freeze for now).
EH - At my company no-one is furloughed but they will be asking people to take holidays at the normal rate unless their role is business critical or it will store up problems for the company later. I couldn't focus on work so asked for leave. I've just met a critical deadline and am in a bit of a natural lull anyway. I normally buy extra leave but didn't get around to it - so in April I got just short of £100 more than normal (net). This will also mean that my pensionable pay went up which is good news.
Somewhere in our house we have a few low weight kettle bells - may try and dig them out. Think DD has them. We should also have those attachable weights that you can use on wrists or ankles too. My DS did have a weighted jacket that he used while exercising may ask him if he still has it. He also has some weird stick thing. DS who is 6ft 2 is around my weight currently - so bad but worse for me as I am 5ft 7! His BP this morning was 139/84 with a pulse of 78 which is very worrying in a 22 year old! I've encouraged him and DD to do a subscription based app called Fr33l3tics (e = 3). For about £30 he and DD can do 3 months of exercise in the garden etc for which limited equipment is needed. They may also do some skipping. We don't know where any yoga mats are so using blankets and a sand mat for now. They are out there now doing it which is encouraging. DD in particular needs structure - so agreed to do it 5 days a week. So far DS being home has been good. I think DD would struggle with the isolation more without him. She recorded her Vlog yesterday - now needs to edit it. Proud of her.
My consultant rang me today - apparently I have oedema in my calf particularly where the muscle meets the bone which is what is causing the problem. He is a knee and hip specialist so he has referred me to someone else who does the lower leg. At least then I will be on the waiting list when things get back to normal - assuming they do.
I'm cooking stewing steak with potato, carrots, onions and peas with pre-made filo pastry. Looking forward to that! An Am**** parcel arrived so now have a good supply of normal coffee - can't seem to buy decaf from there. I've ordered some other bits and bobs that should come later next week. With everyone home we have been going through food much quicker than normal.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Don't forget to ask your doctor the side effects of coming off HRT. Hot flushes are something that we all tend to expect although it doesn't happen to everyone. But if they don't mention arthritis then ask why not. At least the hot flushes go away!

Thanks badmemory- I've googled - and rung GP to ask for gel based HRT that lowers my risks but keeps some benefits. I am also going to get dressed (yes I know its nearly 4pm) and do a bit in the garden. I've been reading the f@st 8oo bookAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I did around an hour and half in the garden but was able to sit for a lot of that on a storage bench we have. I've been cutting off the branches and twigs off a tree DH sawed down last week.
I've rejoined myfitnesspal - so that I can track calories and weight - I have to do something!
Still working out what meals to have tomorrow but likely to have porridge and omelette for 2 out of 3 meals. I need 3 small meals so I can still take meds. DD is cooking so looks like I am having chicken an jacket spud and broccoli and carrots for tea tonight. I've had a good day so far - no junk food. Had a few hazelnuts as a snack.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

there are some good youtube videos out there, I have varying degrees of ability , currently low
I like one from Lesley Sansone, an American lady who takes you for a walk in your sitting rooms. She chats through them until you get to a mile (20 mins) might be difficult with your foot but they are low impact. My 61 yo sister has never exercised, she's on her 2nd self isolation in Dubai, she been doing them, hopefully she's taken off a couple of kgs.
