Well I ate less than normal for day 2 and it seems to have backfired. I'm wide awake and hungry. Just ate some rice pudding. It was probably the chocolate rice crispie cake that set me off. I am also in pain - painting the shed - especially the crouching and bending I did has been heavily rejected by my body. Despite taking an extra naproxen (still safe level) pain hasn't eased. So taken an extra gabapentin too. Really hoping it sorts out soon.
In other news it looks like I may have found a local nursery that will deliver reasonably cheap plants so will try that next week so I can have some summer bedding.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It seems that sugar is a drug and once the high wears off we just crave more!I know we're all different, but I find that once I have something to eat it just makes me want to eat all day.. when I'm doing the 5:2 I don't eat anything at all till my evening meal. Doesn't help when you need to eat something to take medication though, although maybe a banana or something would work for you?Hope the pain eases and you feel better soon. XI Believe.....

Hope you managed some sleep in the end and the pain went. Cinnamon is good for balancing sugar. If you can stew some cooking apples and add cinnamon (don't add any sugar obviously) and have a dollop on your porridge you should find it helps and the cinnamon negates the need for sugar with them.

I hope you got some sleep and the pain has eased today.
You have inspired me to download My Fitness Pal. I'm just using it to monitor at the moment, but even just recording what I could remember I ate yesterday was an eye opener! Today I will record as I eat. So thank you"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well my bags of compost and some plants have arrived for which I am very grateful. I can get on and do some more bits in the garden now. I want to start by changing out / or adding to at least the top inch of all my pots. I will weed them at the same time. I also want to sprinkle some soil on a 'bed' I have in the front garden and then sow some seed to hopefully come up through the geraniums and forget-me-nots that surround my apple tree - so I have future flowers to come! I now have a few lupins so will try and make space to plant them.
Need to go gather up any garden pots or empty loo roll holders I can find to start off my potato sprouts and see if they work. I do now have strawberry and tomato plants so need to work out where to best place them. While I have an official strawberry growing weird 'urn' thing with side pockets, I never found it that successful. DH has mown the lawns front and back. Neighbours have said I can use their garden bin to carry on pruning and weeding which is lovely of them.
I also made a chilli today - don't know when we will eat it but it's very tasty!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well it was a good day overall. Did another diet day. DH did loads today - he walked the dog for 40 minutes, cut a tree branch down for me to reduce shade, mowed the lawns front and back. I pottered - didn't do a lot but still too much for my leg. It hasn't recovered from yesterday. I cleared much and gunk from a water feature and watered my pots which were bone dry. The compost bags that came were 40 litres each but that isn't a lot so I think I will need to keep the compost for my new plantings rather than replace the soil in pots like I normally would. I had a nice chat with one of my neighbours in the front garden. It's amazing how such little things become so important.
I have my last Mr A delivery slot booked for Tuesday. This is starting to 'worry' / trigger me. After that I will be forced to send DS in or go in myself - yet me and DH are both high risk. I so regret not having booked a recurring slot while I still could. I do wonder whether Mr As would listen if we spelt out the disabilities in our house but I bet they are overwhelmed with others with higher medical needs than us. It's frustrating though as we have been getting regular deliveries for months and now potentially will have to change. I think it is probably ASD triggering my anxiety and frustration on this but it is difficult. Just hope I can get a big enough order to see us through for a few more weeks.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Savingholmes if you are classed as vulnerable (by the NHS definition) and have to shield for 12 weeks then you will be eligible for prioritised delivery from some sm. mr s for example is only delivering to those people. You can self register on the g o v website if you haven’t had a letter from the NHS. I’m not saying it’ll be easy to get a delivery, it’s still not but it may give you a different option. Took about 7 days to see potential delivery slots after I registered. There are just so many more people having deliveries than normal (not all vulnerable either) but the supermarkets are doing loads to get more slots. It is anxiety inducing though. We can’t go either and were struggling although we managed a click and collect instead. Hope you manage to get sorted.3

Glad you've managed to get a box delivery. People seem to be having better luck doing click and collect. It's always worth trying to contact Mr A and be put on their vulnerable list if they have one. You may not succeed but at least you'll have tried."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
