  • Definitely keep posting on your diary OBL as we enjoy reading it :).

I will try my best,I am actually finding it really helpful ,even if it just to have a moan about something, my daughters don't know about my debt so I can't talk to them about it and I need somewhere to offload on occasion and of course plan and keep myself accountable

You still have a healthy budget though for what you have left. I think I will put a percentage of my earnings to one side too, thanks for inspiring me to do it.

I wish I got paid tomorrow. I am the 15th of the month, which is great at times, and not great at others.

When they do finally sort the council tax it might make your bill extremely low. That will be really helpful.

Yes my budget is still very good,I'm just aware how easy I find it to spend money without thinking about it,I'm doing ok this year though so far
I like getting paid near the end of the month it makes it easier for me to work things out,all my direct debits come out in the first week I get paid so by the second week I know how much is left and that everyone has been paid

I'm really hoping the payment will be low because at the moment it's £156 which is a lot of money to me

  • Yay another work day over and done with,it was very busy at work today but in a pleasant way instead of a running round like a loony way,I do like to be busy as it makes the shift go by quicker but not as busy as last week that was just crazy

I also looked on my payroll page and checked my wages and it's more than I thought it would be so I'm happy, this month will definitely be fine so I can stop worrying now, next month will be a bit tight because I only worked one Saturday of unsocial hours in November however I will next get paid on Xmas eve so all my Xmas shopping will be done which means that money just has to pay the normal bills, I pay my council tax over ten months so will be using that to go into my savings if I can afford it and if not it will help me get through January
I'm planning on putting it in the savings account anyway and then I can transfer it back if I need it,that way it won't get frittered away in the general bills unless I'm desperate

So the happy news is it looks like I can make a go of my new hours,it would be lovely to stay working full time and have the extra money to pay my debts off quicker than I will do but I have to think of my health,I had a rough year last year and have come so close to getting into trouble with my sickness levels so this needs to work and I'm still paying off the money I owe so for me that is a good compromise

I've also discovered that working a late is more beneficial than an early as I get to stay in bed a lot longer, when I do an early I still have to get up at 5.30 and although I finish work at 3.30 it takes me 45 to 60 minutes to get home and then I don't go to bed any earlier than I would if I was on a long day, working a late means getting up at 9 and pottering about until 11 then going to work so suits my body better

Tomorrow I have DGS again,he is a lot better now apparently and so is his Mum,she is going back to work tomorrow, she says she still feels sick but not as bad as last week,it's the anxiety that makes her worse, she went for some counselling today and they are going to work out a plan and put some practices in place for her to use in case she keeps having panic attacks, the main problem is she doesn't know what causes them in the first place so it's hard to treat them,I'm hoping that as time goes on it will get better

I'm so pleased you don't have to increase your hours! I'm another who prefers lates: I find if I'm on early then I don't sleep as well, waiting for the alarm (and my hours are easier than yours).

Thankyou Cherry,I also find that when I'm on an early I set my clock for 5.30 and I always wake up at 4.50,it's jut enough time to nod off again and then the alarm goes off, every morning it's the same .......so frustrating, tomorrow I have to get up at 6.15 and I bet I wake up at 5.45:mad:

And it's especially true if you've not been able to get to bed as early as you'd hoped, isn't it? The positive side of that is that I took to doing nights rather well. :D

Yes it is,I'm good at nights too,I actually wonder if I'm nocturnal an that's why I struggle so much,I can get in bed at any time during the day and sleep like a log,but night time is another matter
Speaking of which I had better try and get some sleep now because I have to get up at 6.15 tomorrow morning ready for DGs to arrive at 7.30 :)

  • I'm really glad it looks like your reduced hours will work out for you moneywise. Will your mortgage be paid off before you retire?

Have a lovely day with DGS :). It's chucking it down with rain here :( so I hope it's better your way.

Glad you can keep your better hours, that must be a relief. I prefer working mornings to be honest and finishing work earlier. I am more of a morning person, but I wonder if that is because I have to be because of the jobs I have always done. x
    September 2017 Debt = £25330

    Starting afresh.

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x

Me too Hairy:) my housing situation is a bit complicated because it's a shared ownership house,my mortgage ( which is actually slightly less than,my debt now ) will be paid off but I will still have to pay rent to the housing society that owns the other half of my house,I'm currently mulling over ideas to help when I retire these include
    Housing benefit or
    Renting out a room
    Dog walking
    House sitting
Selling it and !!!!!!ing off round the world on the profits and by the time. I come back I will be old enough to live in a residential home :rotfl:

It's chucking it down here so grey and miserable,I was thinking we were in for amlovely cold frosty day because when I came home at 9pm last night all the cars on my road were frozen
