How have you got on with the UC claim?  Once that's sorted it should make things a bit easier for you.
Hi I'm still waiting to hear. They've said I should get a decision by the 22nd of April. I don't think I will get much but even if I only get a small amount it will qualify for the cost of living payment in the Autumn which would be good for my energy bills 😊

Not to long to wait then. Have you looked on one of the benefit calculators to give you a rough idea of what you may get?
    Emergency Fund: £500/£1000
    Christmas fund 2023: £94.60/£500
    House fund: £ 11188. 32

Yes but it varied from 0 to £107 a month so I gave up 😀

Just quickly updating 😊I've been busy in the house and at work.
House wise I've cleared out things from under my bed. There were board games under there plus an under bed drawer that was basically full of things I thought I might need but didn't so that's all gone. The under bed drawer is now in DD2s old room under that bed until I decide if I need it or not. I am not storing anything under my bed from now on because it attracts dust and makes it hard to extricate hiding cats 😀 The board games are now stored in the built in wardrobe in DD2s old room which will stop them from getting dusty. They are just in a pile at the moment but I will buy a plastic storage box for them at some point.
Next I tackled the big cupboard in the kitchen. As DD2 has now taken all her cooking supplies ( apart from some bits in the freezer) I had an empty cupboard so I've moved all my baking ingredients and things like rice and pasta into that cupboard. This has freed up the large drawers under the hob so one of them now houses my baking trays and cake tins. The other is still being used for the bread and dried pack lunch bits such as crisps and biscuits etc. I could then remove the shelf in the big cupboard and put my ironing board in there which was previously behind the kitchen door. It drove me mad because the door wouldn't go all the way back and I would get caught on the door handle.
My ex partner organised the kitchen when we moved in and I have never changed it. I decided to reorganise to suit me and it's so much better, just not having the ironing board out makes it look so much better. That cupboard also houses all the pet supplies and cleaning products so its all in one place now.
I have stripped more paper from my bedroom walls and was intending to do some more yesterday but I didn't feel too good so it didn't happen.im going to to some tomorrow when I get home after meeting my friend for coffee.
I am in danger of being distracted by the garden though if the weather is nice. It's a catch 22 situation though as I can't decide if the bedroom is more important so it's nice to sleep in or the garden in case the weather cheers up and I want to sit outside. I also think I should make the most of any good weather to do the garden in case it rains again. I can do the bedroom anytime but can only do the garden when the weather is good. I think I've just answered my own question 😂

I babysat my DGSs over the weekend. I had them all day at their house while their mum and dad went to a wedding. We started off playing board games which I love to do any way then we went to the park. I had to take B with me because I stayed over night so we took her for a walk too. We had a drink ( coffee for me and juice for them ) and a muffin each at a local cafe that's situated in the town square. It was a lovely sunny day so nice to sit outside then we went home for some quiet time on their iPad and I read my book. We were naughty and had a chippy tea then it was bedtime. They were very good all day and actually went to bed ok. The youngest struggles to sleep without his mum but only woke briefly and did go straight back to sleep after a quick cuddle. I was in bed by ten and prom
promptly fell asleep myself 😀Their mum and dad got back just after midnight but I didn't hear them so I must have been tired 😀.

Im off out at lunch time tomorrow for coffee but I'm going to do a dark wash in the morning because the weather is supposed to be nice 🤞I can dry it outside.

You sound as though you've had a lovely time with the grandkids!

I will second your conclusion on spending time in the garden - yes, make the most of good weather, and also get ahead before it grows too fast to keep up! In addition, doesn't sunlight help regulate your body clock and give you vitamin D? So it's practically a prescription. :)

Yes, I second prioritising garden tasks on good weather days, @Onebrokelady We can always catch up on indoor jobs on rainy days, whereas at this time of year, the garden can get away from us with everything surging into growth, which makes a lot more hard work when we do finally get to it.
Re your under-bed storage drawer.....this idea may be of no use to you whatsoever, but just to say that when we got rid of ours (it was wooden with a chipboard base), Mr F punched the base out (binned) & we used the remaining structure on top of a spare veggie plot corner as a raised bed. I grew strawberries in it for 3 years & had decent crops for the space, until the wood rotted & fell to bits. Would also have been perfect for lettuces, spring onions & saladdy bits.

It was lovely 😊 I did choose the garden over the bedroom because it was such a lovely day and I didn't want to spend it all indoors 😊

Great minds think alike it's a pine wood drawer with a chipboard bottom that I can remove, I was thinking of using it as a bed for planting when I was clearing  it out but I convinced myself it was a waste of a good drawer. It would be perfect to grow stuff in though 😊 Sadly due to last years ill health my garden was neglected so I've got catching up to do now. I made a good start today 😊
