My journey to a debt free life

Up earlyish today and got a wash on so it could go outside. It was sunny and windy so perfect for drying washing. I took B out and tidied up then went and met my friend for coffee.
I decided to do the garden over the bedroom today as it was such nice weather and I think they have forecast a horrible weekend so I can do the bedroom on Sunday. I managed to clear up all the mess on the patio so if I want to sit outside I can now. I've still got lots to do elsewhere but I didn't want to overdo it. It looks so tidy now 😊 I also have lots of lovely leaf mould to use 🎉
I'm working 9-5 tomorrow in clinics so I'm hoping for a good day. The person I'm with is really lazy though so I might make myself busy so she has to get up from behind the computer 🙄 I was running round all day on Wednesday and she just sat there like a useless lump. We have complained about her to out management but nothing seems to get done about it.
DD 2 messaged me to today to arrange to meet up on Saturday for lunch. I have bits to do in town so that works out well 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -
Crappy day at work due to lazy useless co worker 😤 then got message to say I'm not entitled to UC this month 😟my employer reported my wage as more than I had on my last payslip so unless it for the next payday I don't know why they told them I had been paid that amount. I will wait until I get paid then I will know. It looks like my earnings will still be over the amount to claim anyway so I'm not holding out much hope. It's £68 difference on my highest wage £135 from my lowest so I'm not sure how much difference it will make
The frustrating and annoying thing about it is if my energy costs weren't so ridiculously high I would be ok. I am paying £110 more a month than I was last year which makes the difference between surviving or not 🤷♀️
Ive got to take one of the cats to the vet tomorrow because he isn't well. He is quite old but he's not eating properly and feels and looks like he is losing weight. I will have to pay upfront for the bill but he is DD1s cat so she will have to pay me back. He is insured but she will have to claim that back herself
B was also spectacularly sick tonight so I don't know what's going on with her, she was fine when I got home from work 😟😳 hopefully she won't need to go to the vet as wellOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -
I'm sorry to hear you've got all these worries. I hope the animals are okay, it's so worrying when they take sick. Sudden vomiting sounds as though B may have eaten something she shouldn't.
Can you ask your employer what they based the pay on? It doesn't seem right if it's pay you've not actually received. That whole trap that you lose so much by earning a bit more just doesn't seem just or sensible. You'd think they'd realise it discourages people from trying to increase their independence.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

What a shame about the UC. Even if you didn’t get much it would qualify you for other things 🙁
My dog and cats are often randomly sick so if it’s just the one lot from B I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I hope your cat goes on ok at the vets and B isn’t sick again. They are such a worry when they’re poorly.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -

The pay is based on my take home pay I think but I'm not sure if it's the next pay slip they have based it on rather than last month. I will find out when I get paid on Thursday

B was sick again tonight but she bolted her food down so it might have been that 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1200 -
Up early today to take the cat to the vets. He had to have blood tests because it sounded like his kidneys were failing but it turns out its something to do with his liver. He now has to have a scan to rule out something nasty and if they don't find anything he will be put on antibiotics and anti inflammatories and possibly steroids with more bloods to follow in a few weeks.
Today's bill was £250 which I didn't have enough money for so I paid for the consult and an admin charge (£90) and have asked them to do a direct claim from the insurance company . The scan is £250 but that will be covered by the insurance so I wont have to pay for that. It does cost you more to do a direct claim because the vet charges a £42 admin fee but that was included in the £90 I paid today. He has lost some weight but not as much as I thought she said he looks bony due to muscle loss rather than weight 😟 I thought he was 15 but apparently he is 17 so he's a geriatric cat 😳
I met DD2 for lunch and we also bumped into DD1 but she couldn't join us as she had to get home to take the kids to a birthday party 😟
I'm now at home with no plans to go outside until I have to take B out tomorrow which I'm glad about because it's raining. I think I will be doing the bedroom tomorrow because the forecast is rain so I can crack on with more paper strippingOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -
Gosh what a lot of money 🙁 Thank goodness for the insurance. 17 is a good age, my old boy lived to be 21 despite being a scrapper.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I hope the scan comes back looking good. Do you have to wait long? As SA says, it's costly.
(Thank goodness for the NHS, can you imagine if humans had to pay?)

Sorry about the cat. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and he'll be fine soon.
