  • Wow, that's big news! Congratulations :) I'm sorry to hear she and DGS and consequently you and your SiL are having a rough time of it though.

I'm sure it makes all the difference to her just having a supportive adult nearby.

She did say she was glad I was there even if nothing much could be done ,poor SIL felt so bad when he got home and saw how ill they both were :(

Lovely news for you about the new grandchild, but difficult for your daughter to feel so ghastly.....& for you if you are going to be having to do a lot of support. Hope things pick up for her & it starts to lessen soon.

Thanks Foxgloves, I think she I wondering what she has let herself in for,her first pregnancy was really easy and she really enjoyed it,I have a feeling this one might be different, but I'm sure she will cope so long as she has the support there

Wow what a week, I left and got the bus from DDs at 20.07 on Tuesday and got home at 21.45ish,it drops me off a bit of a walk away so that adds time on the journey,I had the dog with me as well so I used the walk home as her evening walk I did pop into the chip shop on the way home because I hadn't eaten since lunch time and was starving
I got in,ate my chips had a hot shower and fell into bed but I didn't sleep that well, eating chips just before bed is a bad idea:eek:

Yesterday I got up and went to work feeling shattered thinking I might ask if I could take the afternoon off,but when I got there I realised there was no chance of that happening because it was crazily busy,I didn't stop all day and we had two really poorly patients so the arrest bells were going off all day too, apparently the day before was even worse and they and to cancel all the surgical patients ops because it was so busy there was nowhere for them to go:eek:

Four o'clock came round and I get a phone call from DD to say she is in ED with DGS who has taken a turn for the worst,DDs mum in law brought them up as they had been there for the day,I was glad when she told me she had gone there as I knew her MIL would look after her,she even managed to eat something,I went over to see him and he was really struggling with his breathing and just looked exhausted,he went to our assessment unit and then was admitted to the ward for observation overnight,so DD ended up on the ward for the night, thankfully she was feeling a lot better yesterday so was coping a bit more than on Tuesday ,they were sent home this morning and my SIL worked from home today so he could be at home with them
I came home from work last night and had a shower and just fell into bed I was sooooo tired from work,I did sleep fairly well but had some really weird dreams

I had a lie in this morning but still feel tired,I had to go into town today though so I did a bit more Xmas shopping while I was there,I'm doing my mum and dad pressies that are something to eat, some smellies and a book each, any way I went into Booots to look at their gift shop and nothing really grabbed me so I left it then I had to go to M&ss for DD and I decided to look in their gift shop and I'm so glad I did because some of it is on sale at 50% off,so the thing I found for my mum was £15 and I got it for £7.50 and my dads smellies we're £8.50 so I got them for £4.25, what a result:j I've nearly finished my Xmas shopping,I've just got to get their books a pot of body cream for DD2 and their Xmas decorations,I haven't got SILs yet mainly because he is really difficult to buy for and I usually end up giving him money instead and I have a couple of small bits to buy for DGS,I reckon I will have it done by the ends of next week

I'm now trying to muster up the end to clean the house,I have done one load of washing and have another on the go, I just need to tidy up a bit

I am being so organised this year, the presents I bought today have been wrapped and put away,I am determined that December won't be spent running round panicking about Christmas, it will be spent relaxing inbetween going to work

DD1 text me earlier to say she has left her phone charger on the ward so I'm going to pick it up tomorrow when I go in ,she said that DGS is a little bit better but is still very clingy and doesn't know what to do with himself, she is going to her MILs house tomorrow because DD has a plumber doing some work on their bathroom all day,she did say that she is feeling a bit on edge again but I'm hoping that she will be ok at her MILs house tomorrow and that DGS will feel even more better tomorrow,I don't think they got a lot of sleep last night so hopefully a good nights sleep will help them both

I managed to do some housey bits this afternoon,I've dusted and polished got three loads of washing done and cleaned out the chickens,I'm just waiting for the last load of washing to spin so I can hang it up then I'm off to bed because I've got to be up at 5.15 for work,I'm only in until 3.30 tomorrow though so that will be nice and I have Saturday and Sunday off

Yay for days off, especially after such a week.

I hope your DD and DGS continue to improve. So many people seem to have horrible lurgies at the moment, but I'm hoping this colder weather puts an end to the germs.
