Could you go somewhere in this country and take B with you?
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I’m sure dd will understand as I suspect she also thinks the world of B.
You have some exciting plans for once dd moves out although I’m sure you’ll miss her.
I don't know she is so excited about taking me away because I don't ever go anywhere.😟

I might suggest that but she really wants to take me somewhere abroad because I never get to go away anywhere. I'm going to suggest we postpone rather than cancel completely

  • I had a good day at work today. It was a nice team on and the ward wasn't too crazy 🎉🎉
Im now off for a week 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I've got plans for my week off too. I'm at home tomorrow and I want to get ahead with house jobs, Monday I'm out for lunch visiting my favourite garden centre with my friend, Tuesday I'm helping DD1 cart things to the charity shop, Wednesday I will be visiting mum and dad, Thursday and Friday should be free and at the weekend I'm helping DD1 decorate the bedroom that the grandsons are going to share. I did want to make a start on stripping my room but I don't know if I will find time on Thursday or Friday 🤷‍♀️

  • Phew I haven't stopped all week. I had a day at home today which was lovely 😊 I had a small lie in before being woken up by next doors scaffolder starting work ( they are having a loft conversion done) I felt sorry for the scaffolder having to do a whole house on his own and having to carry everything up all the steps 😳

I took B out for a nice walk through the fields which she loved. We haven't been up there for ages because I didn't think she would manage it but she was ok today 😊.

I put some washing on when I got back and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom plus tidied downstairs and swept the floors. I also did my ironing and got the shredder out to get rid of all the old receipts I no longer need. The house just doesn't feel tidy no matter what I do because I've got boxes of DDs stuff piled up in odd corners. The house will look empty when she moves out 😀

I don't know if I've posted about this already but my house plants have become infested with fungus gnats and I've been trying different things to get rid of them. So far I have sprayed the compost with Hydrogen peroxide mixed with water followed by covering the surface with diatomaceous earth. I bought a big spray from the garden  Center  and spread them all with that and none of it has worked. The little b*ggers are still winning. I'm swatting any I see and have started to prowl the house with my fly swatter throughout the day. Last night I looked up more methods to get rid of them and some suggested using all the methods I'm using all at once but also sprinkling cinnamon on top of the compost too. I happen to have several jars of cinnamon so I went round and covered all my posts in a thick layer. I'm not sure if it's working but the house smells like I've baked the most amazing cake😀DD got quite excited when she came home as she thought I baked something 😀 if I can't get this under control the houseplants will all be being dumped outside as I'm sick of cleaning dead bodies off my nice clean windows

I remember washing all the compost off the roots of a fungus gnat infestation. I can't remember if it worked instantly - there are usually plenty flying about - but we don't seem to have them any more.

How nice to be able to take B on a field walk.

    Pleased B enjoyed the fields.
I was going to suggest repotting the plants and washing the roots. I have previously done this but it was in the summer. Not sure if it’s the right time of year stm.

I was thinking of doing this but the larvae only go just under the surface of the compost so the advice is to remove the top couple of inches and replace with fresh compost. They also said watering plants from the top is a likely cause because it makes the area where they like to lay their eggs nice and damp. If you let the surface dry out they won't lay their eggs there.
