She has been a bit constipated actually ......she isn't now 😀badmemory said:Dogs are like people they all seem to have different needs in their diets. With mine (years ago) any type of tinned dog food was an excellent cure for doggy constipation. The vet suggested diced shin beef & unpeeled diced potatoes cooked in the microwave. Worked a treat. She used to eat better than we did.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8940 -

DD came home from work and said it was treacherous outside so I'm glad I stayed at home today.
I bought some Meatless Farm mince the other day because it was on special offer for £1.75 a pack. I made a cottage pie with it for tea today and it was lovely. I have three portions left too so I will have it again tomorrow when I get home from work then I won't have to cook when I get in 🎉🎉
I forgot to say when I posted earlier that my phone has packed up. I got a message saying the last update didn't work and as a result I wouldn't be able to make or receive any calls. It's an iPhone 5s so it's really old and is actually obsolete now. I think it's too old for the update so it looks like I'm going to have to get another phone. I don't need to worry about it yet because DD has a Samsung phone I can use in the meantime . I could possibly just stick with the Samsung but she isn't sure about the battery life. I will try it out and see if it's ok as I really don't want to have to buy another phone even if it would be a second hand one. I was looking at second hand phones last year but couldn't decide which one was the best to buy so decided to leave it until I had to replace my current phone. I will have another look to see what's around.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Sorry to hear about your phone - changing phones always seems a huge hassle to me, even without taking the cost into account.
I had an iphone4 years ago which I loved till it wouldn't update any more and I got something else which was a nightmare with no capacity. I replaced that with a Black Friday offer on the last of the iphone7s, and I've kept that going till now. The camera isn't as right for me as the iphone4's camera, and apparently if I went one model later I could have much more memory but I'm determined to hold onto this one while it works. They are such a big outlay!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Baker goes straight through him, only one we can keep in him is S*burys own brand, so I get your pain with itOnebrokelady said:

I found an iPhone 8 for £149 which I can afford. I'm going to look in town tomorrow because the one I've found is online and I would prefer to be able to look at it before I buyCherryfudge said:Sorry to hear about your phone - changing phones always seems a huge hassle to me, even without taking the cost into account.

When I had a problem with mine being so full of photos that nothing would work (I keep them on the cloud now), the helpful man in the repair shop told me the storage is much better on the 8 than the 7. Still love my iphone 7, but I know it won't last forever! £149 sounds like a good price to me, if you are happy with everything else and if mine went in the near future, that's what I'd be looking for.Onebrokelady said:I found an iPhone 8 for £149 which I can afford. Busy day today. I had to go into town for shopping, to sort out my phone and post DDs paperwork back to the solicitors.
I found a new refurbished phone in my local CEX shop. It's an iPhone 8 which was the same price as the one online. DD set it up for me and so far it seems ok, they give you a 24 month warranty which is 12 months longer than the online one. I am now going to put some money away each month in the hope it will actually last two years and I can then buy the newest phone I can afford which should last me years. I'm hoping this one lasts longer than that but you just never know. I've had my iPhone 5 from new and it's just packed up now so I've had my money's worth out of that phone.
I got all my shopping apart from Sainsbury's own brand non bio wash powder, they never have it or the liquid anymore so I ended up going to Wilkos and buying their own brand non bio, I just hope it doesn't irritate my skin 🤞
I posted DDs paperwork and she has emailed them to say she wants to move ASAP so hopefully it won't take much longer. I will then need to go to the council to claim my single persons council tax allowance and I've been told I will be eligible for universal credit due to being on a low income. I am going to go to my local CAB I think to get some advice and maybe help with the forms because it looks very confusing.
To be honest I am loath to claim any benefits because when I was on them before it was a nightmare. I would send off my info and they would tell me how much I would receive which you presume they know how to work out then at the end of the year you get a letter saying they have overpaid you so you have to pay it back. I was a nervous wreck and worried constantly about spending any of my money in case they asked for it back. I got a bill once for £2,500 overpayment which I appealed and they ended up owing my £275 😳
I also got another email from SC today to say my review is overdue so I must contact them as well to sort that out. It will be an interesting phone call that's for sure. I am going to phone them next week while I am off.
I paid my energy bill of £273.68 today as well and I now need to to send them a meter reading on or before the 31st for the next one. I'm hoping all my bills will drop significantly once DD moves out. I have joined some frugal money saving groups on FB and have a couple of you tubers I follow who know how to cut costs and of course there are these forums too. I'm planning a list of good basic meals that I can batch cook and out in the freezer so I don't end up buying ready meals like I did last time I lived on my own. I'm going to try and cook as many as possible on one day so I can fill the oven, they will have veg included so I just need to heat things up. I'm weirdly excited to see how it all pans out 😀 I will be sad when she goes but I've got so many things to do I will be busy 😊
B had a good day again today so hopefully she is alright again now. I do have something worrying me and it's about my birthday. DD wants to take me to Italy for my 60th and we're going to have to put B in kennels but I really don't want to now, I don't want to leave her when I don't know how long she has got left. She will get very distressed so I think I'm going to have to have a chat with DD and say we need to postpone it . I'm not bothered about when I go but I know DD will be disappointed. My birthday is in June but we weren't going to go until later in the year.
