  • I always enjoy Dunelm, I wonder if they have Christmas stuff in yet?

I hope the knitting goes better with the revamped panel. I'm trying to get my head round a lacy stitch to follow a pattern for a baby dress but at this rate the baby will be old enough to finish it herself by the time I've mastered it.
Ohhh I didn't think about Christmas things😍🎉😍🎉 I will need to resist those. I went to a very large B&M store the other day and they had loads there, I was very tempted by lots of things but I left the store without any Christmas things at all ( I bought a much needed shower curtain )

The knitting is going really well now I've changed the pattern 😂😂😂 at the baby finishing the dress herself

  • I've had a busy few days here. I was back at work for a week then off on AL again for this week. We had DD2s graduation ceremony on Tuesday which was lovely.  The weather was beautiful and the ceremony itself was really good. I really needed to spend Wednesday getting over it but we desperately needed some shopping so I had to go into town.
I spent today at home catching up on housework so everywhere is all clean and sparkly again.
Tomorrow I have my appointment with the Rheumatologist so fingers crossed it goes well, I'm really nervous and I'm not hoping for anything because I know how it normally goes so we will see. I got a message today to say my work have referred me to occupational health but it's for a physio appointment which is basically a waste of time and it's not until November the 1st so a bit of a wait. I went to them before and she basically told me they couldn't help me and to go to my gp so I expect the same thing to happen again.
Im not going to Dunelm because I'm meeting some friends for coffee so one of them is picking me up when my appointment finishes.

Today I paid my energy bill of £49.91, it was two days late due to my new attitude of don't care anymore so you will get your money when I feel like it and no I don't want to set up a new direct debit so you can rob my bank account thank you 😀

Your daughter's graduation sounds wonderful, you must be proud. :)

You will have thought of this, I'm sure - but would it be worth getting your groceries delivered? At least for heavy items.

All the best for your appointment. :)

We do get some of our shopping delivered but not fresh stuff because it always has a short date. I also get all the pet supplies delivered because they are too heavy to carry.
The appointment went ok I just need to wait for more results.

I just get the heavy stuff delivered. I like to see fresh stuff before I buy it.

  • Up early today to get to my appointment on time. I had to catch a bus I've never been on before and judging by the comments made at the bus stop when it arrived I was extremely lucky it actually turned up and on time too.
The Nightingale hospital is lovely inside but looks like a warehouse from the outside and there is a distinct lack of sign posts telling you where it is. I only found it because I noticed a portable MRI lorry parked up next to it 😳

The appointment went well and the doctor was very thorough. He examined me and said from what I'm saying and my test results he doesn't think I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and that's it's more of a mechanical type such as osteoarthritis. He did want to rule it out though so has done more blood tests to check for RA. I also had X-rays of my hands, feet and pelvis to check for damage which is progress because I've been trying to get my hips X-rayed for months and months. He said if the blood tests shows RA I will be given another appointment to discuss treatment but if not I will be referred for physio. He also asked if I was under the pain management team which I'm not so he is going to refer me to them to get my meds looked at. I told him they aren't working and that it's affecting my sleep and my ability to work. I'm really pleased about this as I have been on the same meds for years and they are not doing the job they used to. So all in all a positive experience and I'm hoping some help will be forth coming 🤞🤞🤞

I met my friends for coffee and we had a good chin wag but I started to feel ill about half an hour after we got there (pain not illness) which spoiled it a bit for me. I came home and chilled out for the afternoon because I felt awful by the time I got home 😟

Im sad to learn the Hilary Mantel died yesterday 😟 apparently she had had a stroke and was in a hospital here so I'm wondering if she was at mine, such a loss of a great talent 😟

The mini budget has wound me up today too but I'm too tired to vocalise how I feel and it won't do any good or change anything so I'm not commenting on that

I'm off to bed now because I'm shattered so will hopefully sleep.

Almost forgot to say that we have a little local community library in a little wooden house in a neighbours front garden. I've donated a few books but tonight I went to look and there was a book in there ( The Familiars ) that I've been wanting to read but never got round to buying so I've brought that home to read and saved myself some money as well 🎉🎉

Good to hear of what sounds like a thorough and progressive appointment. Well done on finding the book, too!

Great news you’re finally getting somewhere, hopefully they’ll be able to sort you out with some treatment that works 🤞

We’re setting up a book swap at work. I don’t think I’ve read any of Hilary Mantel’s books but a sad loss all the same.
