That’s an amazing amount saved in one afternoon.

I also hate making calls!! Has to be fine sometimes though and it’s usually never as bad as it seems.

Well done on your productive afternoon. I hate phoning anywhere, I’d rather send an email that I can review and make sure I’ve said what I need to. Virgin wanted to put up my bill so I phoned them and managed to shave a bit off it. Ideally I’d get rid of the landline and TV part but need to get an aerial put on the roof for the TV first.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Great work, @Onebrokelady. All bills reduction is good, especially at the moment.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

And why oh why do we have to hang on that hated phone for so long.  I pancaked one phone trying to talk to the doctors a couple of weeks ago.  So so annoying.

I hate making phone calls too. Email was invented specially for me - plenty of time to think and can be sent at any time of day or night. :)
I think that makes it a triple or quadruple victory for you. :)
I use messenger whenever I can or email. It's much easier than speaking to a person who will try and talk you out of what it is you are trying to do.

No it's never as bad as I think it's going to be and I always feel relieved after and wonder why I didn't do it sooner

When I first spoke to them they offered me a new package for £55 and said that was the cheapest they had with the tv still included,I just kept repeating myself and saying that's no good I need it to be cheaper than that or I'm going to have to cancel it altogether and go with someone new to get a better deal. When I got through to the people who cancel things he told me I could have a £10 SIM only deal with 02 but it had more free minutes but I just repeated that I don't use my phone much only for texts so I needed it to be cheaper and lo and behold he found me one for £6 which is the same minutes that I've got now but more data and unlimited texts. I so nearly accepted the original offer but I'm glad I persisted 😊

I was up until 2am with loads of money saving ideas going round in my head, I spent a couple of hours reading posts on the Old time money saving boards and now feel like it's a challenge I can do rather than something that is beyond my control

Thanks Sunshine, sadly I thought I felt better when I woke up but as soon as I started getting ready for the day I felt awful again, I'm ok so long as I sit still and don't try to too much 😟
