And breath.........I'm planning a semi relaxing day today,I've got little jobs to do but in between I'm going to chill out,I was going to go into town for some ingredients but I'm not sure now if I want to,I have food in the freezer that I can have for tea and the bits I need could wait until tomorrow
I actually got up at 9am today which is unheard of for me on a day off I tend to hibernate until at least 10.30 but then I feel groggy all day,I'm trying to get my body into some sort of sleep routine,I hardly ever go to bed before 11 as I'm usually too wide awake,so I'm trying to make sure that on night where I'm working the next day I go to bed at 10.30 at the latest this would give me 7 hours of sleep before work,I will stay up a bit later if i don't have work the next day and try and get up around 9am, hopefully this will help with my energy levels
I forgot to say in last nights post that yesterday was a NSD and hopefully today will be too if I decide not to go outOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
I didn't go out in the end today,it was rainy and horrible so I stayed at home and had a NSD
I managed to get two loads of washing done and mostly dried,I changed my bed too,I also declutterd a single duvet from the spare room,I read on the prepping for winter thread ages ago a post where some had put a duvet under their sheet to make their bed warmer in the winter,I have a memory foam mattress topper on my mattress so decided to spread the single duvet out flat under the topper to give my bed another spongey layer,it's already warm enough but I needed somewhere to store this duvet and this was the ideal solution plus it's removed one item from the spare room that is chock full of stuff that needs rehoming, luckily it's only a box room so not that big,I want to empty it out so DGS can use it when he has a nap or if he stays over
I started off today intending not to eat too many carbs but it ended badly,I had my usual weetabix for breakfast then an orange for a snack then for lunch instead of my usual sandwhich I decided to have two Quorn sausages, two fried eggs and a small tin of baked beans,I wanted something hot and filling,it kept me going until 6pm when DD came home, she wanted takeaway for tea so she ordered pizza for herself and bought me some Cinni dippers,it's a cinnamon sweet pizza with a sugar dip, very unhealthy but sooooooooooooo goood ,I had that for my tea as I didn't want anything else
I have been suffering with acid reflux for a couple of years now and have been on medication for it but the last time I put a script in my gp decided she needs to review why I'm still taking it, I was meant to speak to her on the phone but haven't yet so I've run out of meds,I have had terrible heartburn all week as a result,I know if I eat bread pastries and biscuits I will get heartburn so i really shouldn't have had that pizza tonight,I'm going to phone the gp tomorrow to see if I can arrange a phone appointment so I can get more meds
I had an endoscopy a couple of years ago and everything was normal so they don't know why I have this problem, I'm about 6lbs over my target weight of 9st 7lbs and I know that won't help so need to get that weight off,I've had heartburn all my life on and off,I just wish I could figure out how to get rid of it
As I didn't go out today I will need to go out tomorrow because I need dog food,I'm going to The Range for that because that is the cheapest place to buy it,it's next door to Aldi so I'm going to do my shopping in there tomorrow,I don't need much just some fruit and veg so far,I checked my freezer today and I have enough in there to feed me for a couple of weeks I just need to buy ingredients to make full meals and I do want some sultanas to make a tea bread,I haven't made one for such a long time but after reading about it on someone else's diary I fancy one now,I'm going to take my trusty shopping trolley with me so it's not too heavy to carry with the dog food,I used to be embarrassed about using my trolley because I thought it made me look like an old lady but we have a huge student population here and they all use shopping trolleys so I don't feel so bad now:rotfl:
I also cleared out some wine glasses today for the charity shop so will drop them off tomorrow on my way to the shops,my glasses cupboard is now clutter free and tidy
It's just started chucking it down here now so I'm hoping it will stop by tomorrow or I'm going to get a bit soggy:(
Inbetween doing little jobs today I read and finished my latest book,it was The Marble Collector by Cecelia Ahern, it was such a lovely story and I really enjoyed it,it was one of my charity shop finds,I've got another book to read now that DD has given me,I think it's called Strange The Dreamer or something like that, she borrowed it from the library and said it's really really good and I must read it so that is next,I always read a book if she recommends it because she has great taste in books and knows exactly what I like
I think my relaxed day has done me good, I feel quite refreshed after yesterday's awful day,I'm looking forward to getting things done tomorrow,I'm going to go shopping first then when I get back I'm doing some sewing seeing as I haven't done any for a whileOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -

What a busy week you have had OBL. You always sound so full of energy . The weather has been pretty dire here also , but warmish for the time of year.
You have my greatest respect working in the NHS , I know it's not easy . Glad to hear the dog is ok now.
Hope you have another good day before work tomorrow. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thanks you for the comment about my working for the NHS,I've been with my trust for 26 years and it's changed soooo much,we are now under so much pressure nearly all the time and it does get to you sometimes,I'm 55 now and I do wonder how I'm going to carry on doing my job unlit I retire, cutting my hours has helped a little bit but it's a mentally and physically challenging job that I can't imagine doing in my 60s, I will carry on for as long as I can though
I'm planning on having a lovely day today:)Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
Arrrggghhhh I had such a bad nights sleep last night,I was tired when I got in bed but just couldn't drop off, then I started thinking about Xmas and money and that was it panic stations,I then started worrying about how much I'm going to get paid and phoning SC to drop my payments and whether my creditors will kick off,god it was a long night
I did drop off in the end but didn't sleep for as long as I wanted to and then slept in slightly this morning, but never mind I'm up now and raring to go
First thing I did was check my bank to see how the land lies and it's not as bad as I thought this month,I should have done it yesterday like I said I was going to and then I would have slept ok,I've managed to siphon off £20 to add to my Xmas savings so that's back up to £400 ,I just need to find out what people want and then actually buy it
I'm off out to Aldi and the shops shortly to get my bits of shopping that I need and then I'm home for the rest of the day,I'm planning on sewing today because I haven't done it for a while due to spending all my time on the internet,I know from past experience that this is bad for me,I need to do some creative things to stop the depression from rearing it's ugly head
I'm also planning on doing some baking,I have the usual soggy bananas to go in a banana bread and if I have time I am making a tea loaf, the fruit is usually soaked in the tea overnight though so I'm not sure if that will get done today or on Sunday
I think I also mentioned previously that my energy suppliers have increased my bill,so I'm looking at ways to lower my bill,I've started with the simple action of turning everything off at the plug when it's not being used, everything in this house is left plugged in and switched on regardless of if it's being used or not,so last night I turned everything off,I'm not sure how much difference it will make but it's got to help a little bit surely
Right I'm off to take the dog out as she is sitting here with her legs crossed staring at me intently :Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201
