My journey to a debt free life

This afternoon and evening had mainly been spent looking at property online. DD looks all the time and found a couple of newish houses for sale today that would suit her. I've told her to go and look into how much money she could raise and to at least get planning for when she wants to move out.Todays shenanigans have taught me that neither of us can be trusted not to rush into buy the first house we see, our hearts definitely rule our heads when it comes to buying property and I would love a new build myself. She found two really nice houses today which would suit her, they were both shared ownership which from my own experience I don't like but I do know the schemes have come on a lot since I did it in 1994 so it would work really well for her now,it's reassured her that getting on the property ladder might be easier than she thinks 😊
Tomorrow I have to go into town to pick up the bras I bought and I need some bits of shopping, we have decided to have lasagne again tomorrow because it was so yummy, that will also do Wednesdays tea as well so no cooking for me when I get home from work 🎉🎉Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
It's freezing here today and we had a snow shower earlier 🙀what is going on . I had a memory come up in FB today about this day four years ago when I went go Sidmouth for the day with my friend, the sky in the photo was sooooo blue and I remember it was warm enough to just wear a T-shirt ,I can't wait for that weather to come back
So far today I have walked B, I let her choose where to go today and she picked the short walk,I think it was too cold even for her 😀
I have also been into town to pick up my bras and some shopping. I was very naughty in M&S though and bought myself a shirt, it's a white v neck over shirt with no buttons in linen,I saw it on the website but they didn't have my size and I wasn't sure if I liked it but seeing it in the flesh was better, I've bought a size 12 because then 14 looked too big but I haven't tried it on yet so it might be too small. I have money my Mum gave me for Christmas which is meant to be for riding so I will take it out of that .

It's cold here too, it was sleeting just now in between sunny spells! It can be very changeable in April though.
The shirt sounds good and I hope it fits.
Each to their own but I wouldn't fancy living in a caravan or mobile home when I was elderly as it would feel less safe and secure than a house. I'd also like a house to pass on to my DC to help them after I die. Also house sitting would be good for holidays but if I did it permanently I would miss the stability of a permanent home, imagine constantly packing and unpacking, etc. I think horse ownership is for rich people only because of the feed, stabling, vets fees, etc. Also if your health were to become worse you might struggle to look after a horse.
Sorry if I sound like a right wet blanket and I don't mean to pour cold water on your dreams. It's just my thoughts and trying to take a practical view. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

My best option would be finding one to share, you help with yard jobs and care of the horse plus financial contribution towards costs, I saw one last year where I would have been able to ride two or three times a week in return for the above and £60 a month, to ride twice a week now would cost me £60 a week 🙀sadly it was too hard to get to on public transport so I left it 🙁Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944 -
Currently blue skies, sunshine and snowing all at the same time here. Crazy weather.Crikey I didn’t realise how pricey it is to ride nowadays. I used to go when I was young, always wanted my own horse, all my school friends had them, but my parents wouldn’t buy me one because they said it was a whim and as soon as I discovered boys I’d lose interest. They were right 😆 By contrast my best friend at school now has three horses, she never lost interest. Maybe another horse share will come up if you keep looking. Is there a horse sanctuary near you that would appreciate your help and allow you to spend time with them?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

My riding school charges £30 an hour to go out for a hack and £34 for a half hour lesson,so it would actually be cheaper to own my own in the long runOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
Wow I knew horse riding was expensive- hadn’t realised quite how much 😲 When we go to dds in-laws they are always talking horses. One of the youngsters 11 years old at the time had just had a horse purchased for her.....the novelty was already wearing thin and she’d only had it a couple of months 😲😲 - she liked the idea but hadn’t realised how much work was involved.....she’d learned at an early age how to play a separated dad off against mum. Dad bought it for her 😲😲....spoilt rotten comes to mind.A horse share would be ideal for you. Would it be worth getting transport?January spends - £587.581

I just have visions of you walking a horse onto a bus! Sorry, just read the bottom post.
I am hoping to get DD back horse riding in a couple of weeks once things have opened and settled. I already know her swimming lessons and also her gymnastics classes are back on from next week so that will be good. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x1 -
OBL when I visit dd in-laws it opens my eyes to a different world 😳😳 I used to worry my gks might view us as the poor relatives. But they don’t seem to even notice - thanked us all for what we are - and the in laws are lovely people - just in a completely world to us.
Hope you are feeling ok today 🤞January spends - £587.583
