Shall I play devil's advocate? :D Get the horse - you will spend all your time and money with him/her so there will be neither time nor money to spend on the house, but that won't matter because no one will see it, including you. :)

Completely agree re wired bras, OBL. I like a bit of wire scaffolding to keep the unruly Foxgloves boobs in order, but wired bras are such false economy when the wires poke out within two or three months. I sew them back but it is fairly pointless as once they are through, it just keeps happening. I also like more of a plunge design for lower necklines esp in summer & these are generally wired. I tried an M&S bra that said 'no wires'...... well, that was true, but there were two strips of narrow plastic boning instead, one of which has now poked through just like a wire, it just took a little longer. I don't know why un-wired bras are so often unflattering 'sheepdog bra' styles.

Well done on the NSDs - I’m as bad as you at recording my NSDs I start off with good intentions of recording them and loose track.
I think you should save your cash for doing the house. To get a horse would be lovely for you but what about all the associated fees 😳😳 My dds in-laws have horses and the vets bills make my toes curl 😳😳.
It sounds as if you’ve been very busy today. I love it when the bedroom has been blitzed and there’s new bedding.
Yep it's the associated fees which put me off,I wouldn't be able to afford the upkeep of a horse now unless I sold my house and went to live in a caravan in a field somewhere ..........hmmmm

It ends me up no end,I have repaired theses bras several times now and I'm fed up of it, the wires came through after a few months of wearing them so I definitely won't be buying wired bras from M&S again,I might try others to see if they are any good. The bras I ordered yesterday are actually quite pretty so I'm hoping they will be ok,it did say they have secret support though so hopefully not the plastic strips you had in yours 🙄

Wow it's very deceiving here today, beautiful sunshine but it's freezing cold.I took B out this morning but it was so cold I just went round the block, hopefully we will go for a longer walk tonight and I will wear my scarf and gloves 🥶
My bedding was lovely and dry this morning though so I've got that in now, it's a great day for drying outside so silver linings and all that.
I'm not going to be doing much more than the basics again today due to lots of pain again. I'm beginning to think I'm not going to get any of my jobs done any time soon if this keeps up, I'm not sure I've  ever been out of action for as much time as I have been this year. I can normally power through after a while but I just don't have the energy at the moment. I'm going to work doing the basics at home and then I'm done in

Ideal for keeping an eye on the horse!

Re underwires: I've had a small amount of success sewing a little pad of felt over the wire ends but I agree: that's the weak point.

  • Just delurking, I love your diary and really admire your approach to managing your finances. Re the underwired bras, never, never wash them in a washing machine - it is what causes the wires to come out. I hand wash mine, takes only a few minutes and they last much longer. And there’s no risk of a wire breaking loose and clogging up your machine!
Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.

Thanks for delurking and reading my diary,I'm still always surprised when someone says they like it 😀 also thanks for the info regarding wired bras,I must admit I never hand wash them but I do put them in a bag so loose wires don't get caught in the machine. I learned that lesson the hard way when one got caught once and ripped my favourite top 🙁
