My journey to a debt free life

Oops slept in today and didn't get up until 10.30 ๐,I was awake for a bit enjoying listening to the wind roaring through the trees outside my front garden, they are Sycamores that are about 15 ish years old ( the first lot were chopped down ๐ก) so they are still quite bendy, I could hear a couple of them banging into each other ๐
I decided to wrap me and Betty up and go for our walk despite the weather and it's wild out there, it's even colder than yesterday and the wind is very strong. There is a very fine layer of patchy snow and ice in places too especially in the back lane which gets about one car ย a week down it. I didn't slip over at all but Betty did ๐ณshe recovered herself though and then looked back at me to see if I had noticed ๐
I went straight out to do the ๐๐when I got back and have topped up their bedding so it's nice and deep, chickens are really good at keeping themselves warm and do suffer more if it's too hot but I do like them to have a thick comfy bed ๐ they have got corn and meal worms to munch on, their water was frozen again,I'm going to have to look for some bubble wrap to put round the drinker, we will have some somewhere
I forgot to record a NSD yesterday and will have another one today so that's 5 this month so far,I might put them in my signature though because I keep forgetting how many I've had ๐
Last night I read quite a bit of my book and watched a programme called Great Escapes with Sandy Toksvig ,she takes a friend to stay at different holiday homes around Britain, the places they stayed were amazingยOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = ยฃ17,630 Paid To Date = ยฃ6,736 Owed = ยฃ10,8943 -

I ended up having quite a productive day in the end. I made Leek Croustade for me and DD to share for today and tomorrow's tea so I won't have to cook tomorrow ๐๐ and I remembered today how much we love homity ย pie and also how cheap and easy it is to make so I might make that on Saturday for us both over the weekend ,I also have a spare bolognese in the freezer that I can take to work on Monday then I'm planning another Mac and cheese seeing as the last one turned out so well, I might add some veg to it though, it's nice with leeks in or even kale.
I also cleaned the microwave and washed the kitchen floor then I hoovered the living room and polished in there as well. I also got a load of washing done.
Im now sitting down with a hot chocolate and a mini bag of Maltesers. I have a very itchy nose this evening that is driving me nuts,I've just taken an allergy tablet and sprayed some Pirinase up there to see if it stops the itching and sneezing, I must have come into contact with something that has irritated me today ๐Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = ยฃ17,630 Paid To Date = ยฃ6,736 Owed = ยฃ10,8943 -

I had a terrible night with lots of pain in my legs last night,I took painkillers but they didn't do a lot. The wind howling round the house also kept me awake for ages so not much sleep was had. I was rudely awoken this morning by men across the road doing some road works at 8.30 am ๐ there has also been some people on the vacant school site across the road, they have been chopping down the trees ready for when the builders arrive to start the housing that's going on there, it's due to be finished in March 2022 so there's goes my peace and quiet for a whole year ๐
I took B for a short walk this morning because I had to go and get some shopping,I used all the margarine yesterday and also needed the ingredients for the ย Homity ย pie I'm making tomorrow, I shouldn't have to go anywhere over the weekend apart from a walk with B which is good because it's freeeeeezing ๐ฅถ๐ฅถ๐ฅถ I did also buy me and DD a large bar of chocolate each for Valentine's Day ๐๐
Today won't be a NSD due to the above shopping but I'm hoping tomorrow and Sunday will be ๐Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = ยฃ17,630 Paid To Date = ยฃ6,736 Owed = ยฃ10,8943 -

Another terrible night sleep last night. I woke up at 9.30 but went back to bed until 12 because I was exhausted .
Ive had a relaxing day today catching up on here and finding new diaries to read. I didn't need to walk B earlier in the day because DD took her out but I did do the evening walk. The ๐๐were sorted and I did a load of washing and that's it. I did make the homity pie for tea which was lovely and there is some left for tomorrow. I've got an urge to make a lemon drizzle cake now so if I still feel like it tomorrow I will be making that. I have been enjoying the cooking I've been doing and ย I have loosely planned my meals so my food budget is ok so far this month. I'm trying to make sure I have enough ingredients in so that if I do fancy baking something I can without having to go to the shop for a special trip. I never keep on top of baking supplies because I don't normally bake that often but I do buy lots of ready made cakes which are usually not as nice as home made and are more expensive
I have gotten a bit lax over the last month on keeping an eye on the budget so need to focus a bit more. I've been reading other diaries and they are so focused on exactly where the money is going and I want to be more like this. Im not taking enough notice of small spends that add up and we all know that that leads to problemsย
I was also thinking last night ( this is why I don't sleep ) that I want to go back to drawing the cash out for my food shopping. Since the pandemic I have been using my debit card instead of cash but I find it harder to keep a check on my spending when using a card , I'm not sure how popular this would be in the actual shop though. DD is doing an online shop next weekend so I will add as much bulky stuff to that as I can which will hopefully cut down on things like running out of fabric conditioner. I think I need to plan and then plan some more ๐
Here is today's Homity Pie ๐๐๐Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = ยฃ17,630 Paid To Date = ยฃ6,736 Owed = ยฃ10,8944 -
