I hope your night shift goes okay and you manage to buy your Christmas food. I used to have no id as I don't drive and a birth certificate doesn't show your photo, which is why I got a citizen card and renewed my passport. It does make life a lot easier to have photo id.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi everyone,I think I'm losing my marbles because I could have sworn I had been on here and posted this week 😀
Ive had a busy week but everything that needed to be done has been done apart from me forgetting it my dads birthday on the 27th of this month and I've forgotten to buy him a card or present🙀🙀 I think the same thing happened last year as well, I get so focused on Christmas I forget about his birthday and this year he is 90 so it's kind of special. I have rescued the situation though because luckily I'm on holiday from the 27th so I can go up to their house on his actual birthday to give him a card and present in person, this never happens because I have worked the 27th for the last couple of years or they are away, I'm thinking I might just get him a little birthday cake and then suggest taking them out for a meal when things are a bit calmer and we can get together properly, I will have to go into town on the 27th anyway because I got a text yesterday to say my prescription is ready to pick up, I'm not going today so that is the best time to do it
I have now got two days off to enjoy Christmas 🎉🎉 Im not doing a lot today because I am shattered due to only getting an hour and a half's sleep on Tuesday night and then working a 12 hour shift yesterday, needless to say I slept like a log last night but I feel a bit hungover today, I think after a hopefully good nights sleep tonight I will feel ok tomorrow 🤞
We all received a letter from the trust management this week thanking us for all our hard work and they are giving everyone an extra days holiday next year to be taken when you want to 🎉🎉plus we were all given a £20 John Lewis voucher yesterday with another little voucher to get a free festive hot drink and a mince pie in the restaurant 😀 the letter made me feel quite emotional actually because it's quite a heartfelt message and was really nice to receive, I'm going to keep mine as a reminder of this year 🙀 we all know the problem hasn't gone away and is going to get even worse come January so everyone is bracing themselves for the next few months so any encouragement is welcome
My night shift went really well and I felt ok afterwards, it's not something I want to do regularly but I don't mind helping out if they need me to. It did help that the patient I was sitting with is lovely and has everyone in stitches, she is a pleasure to look after 😊
This morning I took B for her walk along our favourite footpath because although it's suddenly got really cold the sun is shining and I thought the fresh air would help to wake me up, now they have put new stock fencing up along the path and there's no livestock in the field I could actually let her off the lead, she had a lovely run around, I do have to make sure there aren't any other dogs around because she doesn't like other dogs but you can see pretty quite a way ahead so we were safe. I just need to go out and sort the 🐓🐓 and then can stay indoors until Bs evening walk
