Hi just popped in to update, I still not feeling great,my cough is back and my chest feels more wheezy than it was, I'm still pootling along though, if things don't get better soon I'm going back to my GP 🙁

  • I'm sorry you're still feeling rough OBL. I suppose you can't be sure if it's long covid or your fibromalgia (spelt wrong I think).

I find crows a bit scary as they have such long beaks and I imagine them pecking at me 😟. Mind you I find seagulls a bit intimidating too as they are such large agressive birds 😟 (the ones where I live are anyway).
The chest symptoms are down to covid but I'm not sure about the joint pain. I'm a bit wary of seagulls after one stole a whole doughnut just as i was taking a bite out of it 😡

  • Still not feeling great but apart from work I've tried to rest as much as possible. I still have walk B and sort the 🐓🐓everyday though so can't lounge about all the time
I worked my long day yesterday and was 1-1 with a patient who needed sitting with so could relax a bit. I've now got a late to do tomorrow and a 9-5 on Friday the Im back on my next long day on Sunday. My trust has gone into black opal alert today because there are so many covid patients in the hospital and there are loads of staff off sick, they are appealing for staff to do as many extra shifts as they can because it's manic in there 😟
I might end up working some nights at this rate, it would be sitting with a patient overnight so not taxing but hard to stay awake, I haven't done nights for years but it would be extra money if I did do any 😊
Today I have been knitting and reading. I finished the first sleeve of my jumper and have started the second one so just need to do that and then sew it it all together. I have also bought a new pattern for a lovely cable jumper that came up on FB, it's been shipped so I will put up a photo when it arrives,I haven't bought the wool yet because I'm not sure how much I need
Thats all my news,I'm now off to bed as Im shattered

I hope you have a good night's sleep OBL. I can't advise you on the nights because although I think they might be quieter I remember doing nights myself and it isn't good for your health in the long term. However I have colleagues who choose nights because the pay is better for the same amount of hours.

Sorry to hear things are manic at work. Don’t forget to take care of yourself as well as the patients you look after. 👏👏👍

  • Just had two days off which was nice,I had to go and finish my Christmas shopping yesterday and found things for everyone apart from my son in law, he is extremely hard to buy for so will be getting money this year because I'm done present shopping now. Today we went and bought the Christmas food bits for us at home, I just need to get some fresh bits in the week, we have cheated and ordered our booze from amazon 😀 so we don't have to carry it home
I'm working 9-5 tomorrow in clinics all day so that should be a nice day, the hospital is still busy but not crazy like it was last week. I'm working a night on Sunday instead of a long day because they need someone to 1-1 a patient, to be honest working a night is easier than a long day because I won't be running around all over the place, I'm also not sleeping well at night so I'm up anyway, I do however have no trouble falling asleep in the day 🙄 so will sleep well on Monday. I have Monday and Tuesday off to recover so that should be ok then I'm doing a long day Wednesday unless they change it to a night, I'm off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day then an early on Boxing Day then after that I've got a week off 🎉🎉🎉
We have been on a mad hunt for the game Hungry Hippos for two weeks,DD2 is supposed to be buying it for the eldest DGS but it was sold out everywhere, we finally tracked it down while doing our shopping at Mr S today 🎉🎉 it brought back memories of the panic of not being able to find their favourite toy when they were little, anyone remember the Tracey Island fiasco years ago😀😀
Both of us woke up this morning feeling quite ill and DD has gone to bed, she has a couple of days holiday now but looks like she is going to be spending it in bed which is a shame, I'm feeling a bit better this evening the main problem I have got at the moment is a massive spot on my chin 🙀 I don't get spots very often but this one is huge and quite painful, I zapped it with some TCP earlier to see of that helps
Last night I actually sat and watched the tv, I like The Repair Shop so watched that, the craft people there are so talented  I love to see their work, then I watched Christmas at Highclere Castle, I love this building it's absolutely stunning so wanted to see them decorate it for Christmas. I would love to go and visit it one day

Sorry to hear you’re both still feeling out of sorts.....this COVID has taken its toll on you both.
I remember mine with Hungry Hippos....the sound used to drive me crazy....and of course it was one of their favourite games 😂😂😂 Pleased you managed to get it 👍
I’d love to visit Highclere too.
I admire you and the work you do. I really couldn’t work all through the night.....My dh used to work permanently on nights - in the days when hospitals had chefs working through the night and cooked everything from scratch. In those days it was very well paid with enhancements for working unsocial hours. He loved it. Not too sure what eventually made him change....seems a lifetime ago now 😳

  • I've been running round for a toy before now. I remember blue Peter making the Tracey island and it did look good.
I've never worked a night. I'm not sure whether I could stay awake.
I do like the repair shop too. I've seen them.produce some amazing things. I love watching it. X
