Good to hear from you, sorry to hear you're still feeling so awful, you'll just have to rest and take each day as it comes. Complan is a great way to get some nutrients into you when you don't feel like eating, I remember Mr SA having something similar in hospital when he was on chemo. I'm glad DD is starting to feel better but she mustn't do too much too soon. I hope you start feeling better very soon. Take care xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

After waking up in agony with whole body pain at 2am I gave in and took a couple of ibuprofen and thankfully they worked, I've been holding off on taking them because there was a rumour they made symptoms worse I've also only got two left so need to save them for tonight in case it happens again. I also realised yesterday that the prolonged headache might also be due to lack of coffee,I drink quite a bit and haven't had any since Saturday because I've gone off it, Today I have had some muesli, a glass of Complan an egg custard tart an orange and three grapes, I just cooking some oven chips because I really fancy a chip butty 😍😍yesterday I could taste lemon meringue pie for some reason which is weird when you can't taste any actual food 🙀

Thanks for updating, OBL, as I had just been wondering how you are. Sorry to hear you had such a painful night. I have heard that a bad headache can be a Covid symptom, but I just wanted to agree with you that caffiene withdrawal is also a very real possibility. I also drink a lot of coffee & need at least two good mugs a day of the strong real stuff to keep a headache at bay. Years ago, I remember going on holiday with a friend. It was a massively long drive & I didn't have a coffee because I didn't want to add in heaps of loo stops (I must be one of the UK's greatest connoisseurs of motorway service station loos!) & very unusually for me, probably because I was out of my routines, I didn't have one the next day either. I was busy, out & about, it was quite hot & I just had water. Well.....by early evening, my head felt like it could crack open. I tried painkillers, cold cloths, fresh air, more water, a starchy snack, all the usual things, then my friend said 'Just a thought, when did you last have a coffee?' & I worked out that it was the day before yesterday! By then I'd gone for a lie-down as felt so appalling. She made me a cafetiere & honestly, I felt like a right addict, because after an hour & a half, my headache lifted & I was back to normal! Caffiene withdrawal, pure & simple! I also know someone who diagnosed her husband's bad headaches as caffiene withdrawal when she realised he always got them when he was at home on annual leave.......he was in the habit of swigging loads of coffee at work, but not at home. So, yes, it could well be Covid, but you can get quite a banger of a head if you suddenly stop drinking caffienated drinks.
I am glad to hear you have managed to eat something & hope the medicinal egg custard hit the spot.

Just to reassure you the advice re Ibuprofen has, I am pretty certain, been changed to say it is ok to take. The following is a copy and pastte from government website.
There have been some news reports of anti-inflammatory painkillers, such as ibuprofen, making coronavirus worse.
The Commission on Human Medicines has now confirmed there is no clear evidence that using ibuprofen to treat symptoms such as a high temperature makes coronavirus worse.
You can take paracetamol or ibuprofen to treat symptoms of coronavirus. Try paracetamol first if you can, as it has fewer side effects than ibuprofen and is the safer choice for most people.
Always follow the instructions that come with your medicine.

Keep resting as much as you can.I remember handing complain out when I used to be the diet chef in a hospital many many moons ago. We realised there was a bit of a scam on with some nurses claiming it was for patients when they were using it themselves in place of a slim fast replacement meal drink....very similar nutritional value except one is to be used with food- the other as a meal replacement. Said nurses were caught but I never found out what happened to them 😳😳
Hope you have a better night and both yourself and dd turn a corner soon.January spends - £587.583 -
