My journey to a debt free life

Phew I can finally sit down,I've done the walls in the first coat so just need to get the colour on now,I'm going to go into town on Sunday to get the paint for that,I'm also going to try and get some food shopping but I'm not sure what I will end up coming home with because it seems people are stockpiling and a lot of the shelves are empty 😟
I also saw one my local news tonight that some Asian students had been physically and verbally attacked in the city this week, this makes me sad and angry at the same time 😟Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
It is so sad what is happening. It's just people not being educated and it is awful.
I will go to my local Tesco to get some bits this morning. I won't be stockpiling, but I do need a few bits and pieces. x

I met my mum for lunch today,I wasn't going to go because I don't really want her to be going out if she doesn't have to but the government might announce recommendations for elderly people to stay at home within the next week or two so I thought we had better see each other now while we have the chance 😟
The cafe we went to today is usually packed but was really empty, the owner is worried about the effect this virus is going to have on his business 😟
Mum wanted to buy some hand gel but there wasn't any to be found,we went to Wilkos and there was a young woman in front of us who picked the last 6 bottles of hand gel off the shelf ,she then put the basket on the floor so I bent down and took one bottle out to give to my mum and then I told her off for being selfish, she looked very shocked but I don't care, she shouldn't have been buying it all in the first place,I really cant understand why the shops aren't rationing hand gel to a couple per customer so that everyone can buy some
We then went up to Boots to see if they had any just in time to witness two poor Chinese students coming out of the shop with masks on that were being shouted at by a group of yobbish lads,I wanted to say something but my mum was really worried about it so we just hurried into the store,I still feel bad that I didn't stop and intervene,I never usually walk past if something like that happens 😟
Mr S did have low supplies of loo roll at least and their shelves didn't look too bad so I'm hopeful I can get most of my shopping tomorrow
I must say though that today I have lost my faith in the human race, why are humans so selfish and me me me all the time, at a time like this we should be pulling together not just looking after number oneOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8947 -
I cannot understand people stockpiling. This is mass hysteria hyped up by the media. A little bit of calm is needed and totally agree that there are some ignorant and selfish people around. I even read of people stealing hand sanitiser and face masks from hospitals. Don't lose faith. It is a small proportion of uneducated people who take over for the majority. The rest of the people will be getting on as normal and not getting involved in such ridiculous behaviour.
I agree it is the media. They are desperate to call it a pandemic and keep ramping it up all the time. I am sure you know OBL that flu kills far more people.
I hope it settles down soon. x

I agree with Nicnak that the selfish minority are the ones you notice. Working in the playground restores my faith in humanity as the children are often so kind and caring towards one another
.
You're much braver than I am OBL and I really admire you for sticking up for minorities. I'd be scared of getting punched in the face 😥.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Oh dear what a downturn for poor DD2,she came home yesterday after going to meet a new friend she has met through streaming games, she had a lovely time and the friend she met sounds like a really nice person, but DD2 was really poorly last night with a stomach upset, so is not feeling too great today, she doesn't like being sick so had a panic attack as well, thankfully I managed to get her to do some breathing to calm her down and so far today she has been ok but still feels a bit rough
Honestly this month is getting on my nerves now,I have had a bad chest since god knows when, then DD2 got it as well ,we have both had stomach upsets as well, I'm fed up of being under the weather, nothing ever seems to clear up completely before something else comes along, Of course the DGC spread a lot of things around so maybe it's that, I'm taking my vitamins and hoping for nicer weather so I can get some sun on my skin,I sure that will help
Im going shopping shortly but was just about to leave the house and it absolutely chucked it down, the sun has come back out now but there isn't another bus until quarter past so I'm waiting for that and hoping it doesn't start raining again when I leave
I was going to paint the bathroom today but I'm leaving it in case DD needs to rush in there😟 I'm going clean the house instead and I might even be brave and do the ironing 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944 -
I had mixed results with my shopping trip,I managed to get most of the things I needed but there were no Quorn products of any sort in the shop, this does happen every so often and I think it's common if you go shopping on a Sunday 😟I'm going back in tomorrow because I only managed to get one of the books I wanted to buy for my mum for Mother's Day,I've seen the other one is the bookshop at the other end of town but I was at the opposite end and didn't have the energy to walk all the way up there
I've managed to stock up on most things but can only carry so much shopping,I had a full shopping trolley a rucksack and two shopping bags to get onto the bus ,I will need dog food soon so will try and get that tomorrow too
i can't remember if I mentioned on here a while back that I've been looking for some new boots because mine have just about had it,I couldn't find any that fit the bill but I saw some today that I think would be good, I need them to be waterproof and easy to clean, the ones I have now are nu buck leather and they aren't easy to keep clean at all, they look really scruffy and seeing as I only wear boots in the winter they need to be good for lots of different things, the ones I've seen today look like leather but they are vegan so not real leather, they also have really comfortable insoles,I tried on a calf length pair but they were too tight to zip up on the leg 😟then I saw another pair that lace up so I'm going to go back and try them on tomorrow to see what they are like, they look really comfy and some have fur lining 😀
Now I need to persuade myself to get off my butt and go and do something useful,I've got a load of washing on the go and need to get started with tidying the house but my get up and go has got up and gone 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944
