Ha ha, great that you got a 'day off'.
You have a few projects ready in the mix to go. I have the rabbit in the garden at the minute too. He is running round enjoying it. It's nice to see him having fun out there. I keep getting glimpses of him running past the window.
Have a lovely day. xOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

I think it's cheeky of your DD to expect you to have DGS for the day when she's on maternity leave. Maybe for an hour or two but not all day. She's lucky to have you to help out as a lot of young people nowadays don't have that option now we're all having to work for longer. You work long shifts and deserve some down time to yourself.
Thanks SA, I did think that as she was on maternity leave she wouldn't need me but she said she didnt want to change DGS routine, we compromised on her coming for the day too but I still do all the running around because she sits with the baby !♀️
My mum never helped me with my kids,I just had to get on with it myself,I was also working part time and was a single parent for most of it,I started full time work when they were 13 and 16 and back then I used to do nights as well, she thinks I don't realise how hard it is but I do ,it's just that there are two of them and she is off work at the moment so I don't see how she can't copeOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

. I still sometimes wonder about getting another hamster, they are real little characters though as foxgloves says, share our lives for too short a time.
It's been a sad time especially as he was so friendly and such a character,I did say to DD that at least he had had a good life while he was here, and didn't end his days stuck in a tiny cage in a pet shop, we have buried him in the front garden next to EricOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

I had a good weekend thanks, the weather was lovely and sunny but coldOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Phew where did that weekend go, work yesterday was lovely with a lovely team on, I was also on an early so left at 3.30 which was novel
DD2 did an online shop with Mr T and I was a bit disappointed,we ordered it to save us going out and we also ordered heavy stuff ( cat litter x2 and dog food x2 ) this saves us carrying it home but the cat litter and dog food among other things were missing from the shop, for some reason DD hadn't selected the option to accept substitutes so we ended up with nothing
I will have to take the shopping trolley and buy it in town, we did however get our mammoth pack of loo rolls,I have a weird obsession with running low on loo roll and whenever I buy it in bulk it makes me very happy,I told DD that I feel secure if I know I've got good supplies of loo roll in the house :rotfl: :rotfl: she thinks I'm bonkers:rotfl:
I have started on the baby sampler for my smallest DGS,it nearly didn't happen though because I thought I had spare material here to sew it so didn't buy any but the material I have is the wrong thread count so I couldn't use it, I really didn't want to buy any but luckily I had an off cut left over from the Christmas decoration I've just finished, it was just big enough to fit the design and there should be enough spare round the edges to frame it, I measured it so many times and also counted the squares to make sure it would fit so that was lucky
Last night was spent helping DD2 make a board game to take to her placement this week, she had to think of a theme for the week so they are focusing on all things Scottish ,she designed a game called Chase The Haggis and last night we spent evening making it and test playing it, we didn't finish until 12.30 am and I was shattered because I got up at 6am yesterday,I had to colour it all in while she did forfeit cards, I have to say I was pretty impressed with the finished product
Today has been spent doing housework,I've polished and hoovered everywhere, cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen, got two loads of washing done, changed my bed and cleaned out the chickens
It has been a really cold and frosty day here today, taking the dog out was interesting,I do however love this kind of weather, cold crisp and sunny,I stood in the lane with my eyes closed facing the sun and it felt soooooo nice, since it was cold today I felt in need of comfort food so I had thick chunky veg soup for lunch with chunky slices of tiger bread, then for tea I made sausage and bean pie, this is something I used to make for the kids when they were little, it's just cooked sausages mixed with baked beans and a bit of smokey paprika in a casserole dish topped with cheesy mashed potato and it's soooo tasty, proper comfort food
Tomorrow I'm going to DD1s for the day, it's her turn to come here but she doesn't have any petrol in her car so can't go anywhere,I actually wanted to go there tomorrow so my house will stay tidy :rotfl: and I feel the need to go somewhere apart from work, I'm not treating myself to chips on the way home though because I have the rest of the sausage and bean pie to eat so that will save me some pennies,I just need to not breath in when I go past the chip shop which is near my bus stop :rotfl:Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

Well, good luck with that one, as they say! :rotfl:
How annoying about the pet food. I do sympathise. At least you have loo rolls! I get ours (loo rolls not pet supplies) on the Internet and that works out well apart from the orders being 24 or 48 rolls at a time and I have to be very creative to store them.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. I hope you have a good day at DD's tomorrow, at least your house will stay tidy as you say
. You're a very good Mum to both of your DDs and if DD1 doesn't appreciate you now she will one day.

Hi everyone from a grey and drizzly corner of the southwestthe lovely frosty weather has gone to be replaced by grey clouds and drizzle, it's also still really cold, for some reason I don't mind the cold if it's frosty and dry but hate it when it's damp !♀️
I went DD1s on Tuesday and both children have colds so they weren't too happy,we had an ok day though,I couldn't resist the charms of the chip shop though and ended up buying chips when I left:rotfl: I took the sausage and bean bake to work yesterday and had it for my lunch
Yesterday I was working and had a busy day,I was on the surgical team in the morning then had to go and cover an orthopaedic clinic in the afternoon then I was back on the ward when that finished, so I had a varied day all in all
Today I had to pop into town for dog food,DD1 had to go in so she picked me up and we went in together,I also took the opportunity to buy some sawdust for the chickens,we didn't stay in too long which I was glad about because I don't feel too good today,I think I've got another cold brewing,I woke up this morning with a slightly sore throat and now feel a bit under the weather,I also have ear ache that keeps coming and going, I've probably caught whatever the DGC have got
I also had to take the dog to the vet this morning because she has been off her food and I forgot she was supposed to have blood tests in December, she is actually now eating again but I still had to take her for the blood tests, she also needed flea treatment and worming tablets, the bill was £220 :eek::eek: I didn't have enough money on me so only paid half today,I am hopefully going to go back tomorrow to pay the other half,I used the money I got for Christmas today because I had forgotten to transfer the cash over from the emergency fund to my current account, anyway when I logged into my bank there was too much money in there and it turns out I had got a rebate from EDF for some reason,on one hand I'm disappointed that I couldn't just have a rebate and not use the money but on the other hand it was very timely because that will pay for the rest of the vet bill and means it only cost me £70, so silver linings and all that Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941
