That situation does sound worrying. Especially if he has the card like you think. It is unusual for them not to send a replacement. He sounds like he is getting more and more controlling over even the littlest things. She can't spend anything without he knowing or agreeing.

Those chickens are hilarious. Back of the queue for their brains though!!

Could you possibly take your mum to the CAB and get them to explain to her what she would be able to get?
    x
That may be not be a bad idea OBL if you took your mum to the CAB for advice.

I can understand why you're worried, but your mum is very lucky to have a daughter like you who is concerned about her and there to help her.

So today is a day for home jobs,I've started off very lazily as i didn't get up until 9.45 and have been sitting here having breakfast and drinking my tea,DD has just nabbed the shower so I'm just waiting for her to finish so I can go and have one, she is still feeling yucky but is trying to write an essay this week so is a bit stressed out, I can't decide if I have got a cold still or not,one minute I've got a sore throat and headache then it goes away for a bit, then it comes back for a bit,I wish it would just bu**er off

Anyway I'm going to jump in the shower and then it's action stations to get my jobs done, then later on I might actually have time to do some sewing,I haven't done any for ages so I need to get on with it,I've started listening to podcasts while I do my hobbies as well instead of the radio, I find them very interesting
I also take my phone and my headphones out when I walk the dog as it gives me a chance to listen to something motivating or interesting while I'm out,I don't always want to walk the dog so making it a time for listening to a favourite podcast is a good way to encourage myself to go out and do it

Right the shower is free so I'm off to get things done😊

Phew, time for coffee and a sit down for 5 minutes
I was feeling really out of sorts this morning so I took the dog on an unexpected longer walk, she guilt tripped me into it actually,at the moment we have road works on our road which means we have to cross the road to the side where we walk if we are taking her to the river then we have to cross back to carry on with the shorter walk, well we crossed over and her tail started wagging and she sped up a bit as we got nearer to the junction where we either turn down to the river or carry on the shorter walk her tail got faster and faster,I just didn't have the heart to disappoint her so we went to the river
I get put off taking her down there because the walk there and back is boring so I did a diversion today and took the scenic route through the country lane that runs back up to our house,it means going slightly out of my way but it's a much more pleasant walk,I think if I do that I would be more likely to take her down there,so that is the new plan when I have the time to take her on a long walk

I then came home and disinfected the kitchen to within an inch of its life, did two loads of washing, changed my bed, polished everywhere and cleaned the bathroom,I just have to hoover and I'm done

So I'm just having a coffee before I get the hoover out

I've got itchy feet......not actual itchy feet but the intense desire to not be in this place,I haven't felt like this for years and this house is the longest I have ever stayed in one place, the overwhelming urge to just sell my house and go and live somewhere else took me over today,I won't do it of course because it's not the best time to be doing that, but I can't shake the feeling of wanting to be somewhere else

The idea of a brand new beginning is so tempting to me, although I stayed in this city when I first left home I moved quite a few times to different flats,I didn't need to but I would get bored,I've always joked that I should have been a gipsy and indeed my ideal life would be living in one of those big motor homes and just travelling where ever I wanted to
My ex partner was in the merchant navy and I moved a couple of times while he was away at sea,I would have to write to him to tell him we had moved so he knew where to go when he came home

I think really I need to just concentrate on making this house the house I want it to be and forget about moving anywhere else but my itchy feet are telling me otherwise

:rotfl: I still get a little bit of wanderlust - at one point we moved often and it gets in your blood. I had to grin at the thought of you hoping his post had arrived when he was due shore leave. :D

I quite understand that there are situations we can't change and, hard as it is, it's best not to try to until the circumstances alter. I hope things improve in that area but till then if you need to write it out, this is your diary and you make of it what you wish. :)

You have a very persuasive dog, btw. As both of you like that route, perhaps you could treat yourselves more often (okay pooch, stop twisting my arm).

It's funny because I hate the process of moving but love starting again in a new place, I did used to worry my partner wouldn't get his mail:rotfl:back then the only way to contact him was via airmail as there wasn't any mobile phones or internet ( god I feel ancient writing that) ,luckily it always arrived in time :rotfl:

My dog has a very persuasive face, she just looks at me with her big brown eyes and that's it I'm done for:rotfl:

What a miserable day it is out there today,I was very lucky to get out with the dog before the rain arrived, the cat went out though and wasn't so lucky,he came back absolutely soaked and was very vocal in his displeasure :rotfl: I did tell him not to go out but of course he didn't listen :rotfl:

I have DGS today and he is poorly yet again, the poor little man had a tummy bug over the weekend and is now just exhausted,he didn't move from the settee this morning when he first got here and in the end I put him to bed,he didn't complain and just snuggled up under his blanky with his bunny,he isn't eating apart from breadsticks although he is drinking so that's something,he looks like he feels very sorry for himself

Luckily I didn't have any plans to go anywhere today apart from to get a loaf of bread,so it's ended up being a day to stay in in the warm,I might still have to go and get that bread though but I'm waiting to see if this rain blows over, luckily DD is off today so she can keep an eye on DGS

DD is still trying to write her essay but is struggling with it,it's on child development and she doesn't really know anything about children as she has always worked with adults and the elderly, one of the other ladies in her group messaged her this morning to say she hasn't written a word and is thinking of dropping out because she is so stressed out by the course, hopefully she won't because DD says this lady will make a really good OT

I am thinking I might drag myself off the settee in a bit and make a banana loaf because as is usual in my house I have bananas to use up

Good afternoon from your twin house - I'm struggling through homework for a course (AKA engaging every avoidance strategy I can till late this evening) and I too have bananas to cook with. I'm putting mixed dried fruit in with mine, I do like to experiment with adding things to banana cake!

We still have dry weather but I think the rain is on the way, judging by the forecast.
