While on the subject of decluttering. Have you read or watched Marie Kondo? She is very good, her book was very inspirational. Her method is that you declutter by category, rather than by room or cupboard etc and you pick up each item in turn and decide if it brings you joy.....If not then it gets thrown out or recycled or donated. We did it a couple of years ago and went through all the house except the garage. We really got rid of quite a lot, but I fear that we have since got cluttered again and I need another go. Of course OH won't let me declutter his rubbish wardrobe or the shed..lol:rotfl:

She has a show on Netflix at the moment that we are watching,I like her ideas but she does focus a lot on organising what you own where as I am focusing on getting rid of what I own so I don't have to organise it :rotfl:

Yes I have seen a couple of those episodes. Need to watch the rest. I think if you find something doesn't bring you joy then you would get rid of it and not have so much to organise. That is her theory. I actually found the book a lot better than the TV shows TBH. I think a lot of the people on her shows are just hoarders and will never be willing to admit something doesn't bring them joy. Although the couple in the second episode...the ones with all the Christmas decs, they did get rid of a lot of stuff.

This is exactly the reason that I don't like clutter. I've also decluttered the garden a bit last summer as I cut down a big bush that needed constant pruning and blocked my view of the garden. I also cut down our side hedge the year before that. Now there is a lot less pruning to do I can use the time saved to grow flowers and bulbs in pots which we can all enjoy :).
Also as you say if the house is decluttered it does free up time for more enjoyable activities. I feel quite inspired to declutter now when I get over this horrible cold
I hope you're having a good day with DGS today :).
We are having a lovely day thanks,I stayed at home with him today because I didn't really feel like going out and he still has the remnants of his cold :(

The next few episodes feature people who are a bit more open to suggestion,so it's worth keeping on with,I didn't like the couple in the first episode I felt like she was just making excuses and he was blaming her for everything, mind you I suppose he was out at work all day whereas she was at home with the kids so could have down more o be honest

I've just subscribed to your diary but intend to pick up where I left off (about 10 pages in) before you directed me to the DMP support thread so will take me a few days to catch up lol. Thanks for the advice you gave, it gave me the confidence to do it :)

Gosh, I remember when you first started your diary...although I was following under my old user name. TBH, I was a bit gutted at having to change my user name as I had been a member on here for years...hey ho, fresh start and all that.
Can't believe its been a year for you. You have done so well in that year, well done. x:T

Thank LIFL,it is annoying when you have to change your user name, I would be gutted if I had to change mine

I can't believe it's been a year either, where did that time go,I am really glad I started a diary because it gives me something look back on to see how far I've got and how things have changed,I can also offload here and it doesn't matter :T

I had a really busy day at work yesterday,I was doing my 9-5 shift so was in clinics all day,we had 8 clinics running in the morning and there was no one on the ward to relieve us so we didn't get a break until lunch time, there are biscuits left over from Christmas down there so we worked our way through them:rotfl:

I wasn't feeling too good yesterday and I had to go over to the walk-in center with a urine sample,I have an infection so they gave me antibiotics for it,I had awful stomach and back ache yesterday,it's not as bad now so hopefully the anitbiotics are working their magic,I'm hoping this was a one off because the first year I was diagnosed with fibro I had one urine infection after another and it was miserable, they never did find out why

Today is my day off so I had a lie in and then breakfast and a dog walk I took another bag of stuff to the recycling plus a bag of clothes DD had sorted out to the charity shop,so that's another load gone,I'm going to go and clear a bit more of the spare room in a bit and also my makeup in the bathroom,I've have so many old bits I don't use that are probably way out of date so need chucking out
