Me too. Very confused!Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0

I was trying to make a point to the poster of the original, by copying their post word for word - to provoke a reaction like:
"Someone's copied my post - how dare they!!!"
I totally agree with the original poster - although its petty, I know I'd be pi**ed if someone nicked my photos or auction text!0 -

Photos are copyright and if a company is registered on the VERO programme they will get your auction listing pulled even quicker.

OK. It's just i've used a few stock photos for selling nokia mobiles on eBay - surely they're not going to pull all those hundreds of auctions - eBay will be at it all day ! I know this can be a grey area, so it probably depends on the retailer or their policy0 -
If someone buys sometinhg from you and sells it on fair enough. Stealing photos etc now thats wrong. I always report for this. The thing is if someone just pinches other peoples photos than they are conning the buyer as they are giving an image of something, claiming that this is the item the buyer is bidding for. While the actual item could be bashed, sctratched or look totally different.SO by reporting them you are forcing them to show what they are actually selling. How would you feel if you bid on a dress got it and found out the colour design was different because the seller had stole someones photo ? Or for real scammers sell sometihng that is broken using someone elses photo andthen tell the buyer they must have damaged it asthe photo showed it was fine !0

Cat72 you make a very valid point. If I sell say a mobile phone then I take a photo not only to show what it is but almost to show I actually have it as well. IT's the one thing that scammers do that catches them out, they use a stock photo or a photo obviously lifted from a web site. So if a genuine seller uses a standard photo lifted from a website you will get buyers like me mistakenly thinking they don't actually have the item.

I recently reported someone for copying my photo and listing, mainly because my item was brand new and theirs was used. So I felt it was wrong to show someone a photo of an item which is in brand new condition when thats not what their selling.
I also think its lazy to copy someone elses listing, not showing iniative. I would'nt do it.0 -

I made a comment on Page 1 that I was concerned that if I did report her then ebay would pick up on the fact that I copy my photobucket photos into my listings without paying for additonal photos. Do you know where I'd stand on this?
Hiya,
I replied to your comment on pg2 here , but there's also a section on ebay's help pages about using external photos here if you want official confirmation.
You're absolutely fine.

What a bloody cheek! Is there anything I can do?
TIA
Hopeless
dont see the problem here.... sold some nokia 7600's...about 60 and made about 2.5K profit....one guy bought almost 10 off me and promptly sold them in Europe for an extra £30 extra......didnt care as he was taking a much bigger risk....the only time its annoying is if people are selling the same item and use your photo!

I bought an item from ebay, it wasnt what I thought I was buying (my misunderstanding). I told the seller I was putting it back for sale and I used her listing and photo. I didnt think it was that important.0

I think the opening post is more upset because the buyer is selling it for more than she sold it for0
