Buyer is re-selling my item and has copied my listing and my photos!

I have to agree with Payless
What is the issue with another selling using the same photograph? Is that not someone just using some initiative and saving time and money?
Is it worth all the effort reporting them etc, etc, etc???0 -
(I am assuming this was a one off and its not an item you are selling regularly)[/QUOTE]
Yes, it is a top I have in a number of sizes and I have about 3 current listings on the go.Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0 -
As a seller I would report them to ebay for using my images without permission. It might seem inoccent to steal someones photos but someone once pointed out to me that a casual buyer will see the identical photos and make a fairly natural assumption that you are the same seller using two different ids. Then any sale between you could be reported as shill bidding.
OK I know this is an outside chance, but using images and auction details without permission is not allowed on ebay anyway and there is a category via help for reporting other users that do this.
I have no problem with buyers selling my items on, I have done it myself buying from Ebay US and selling on ebay UK, but not using the same auction template.

Thanks Soo, that is a good point about people thinking I've got two separate IDs.
I made a comment on Page 1 that I was concerned that if I did report her then ebay would pick up on the fact that I copy my photobucket photos into my listings without paying for additonal photos. Do you know where I'd stand on this?Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0 -
The issue is it's against ebay rules, not to mention a damned cheeck.Vic_980 wrote:I have to agree with Payless

you can report this sort of thing here:

There is also nothing wrong with using your own photos via a link.Questions are a burden for others; answers a prison for oneself.0 -
If I wanted to sell an item, but didn't actually have a digital camera or a photo, i'd probably use one from the manufacturer - nothing wrong there is there? Or would you suggest i'd have to ask permission, as some of you say it is copyrighted ?? Have some sense ! Or otherwise take him to court : http://www.patent.gov.uk/copy/indetail/copyclaim.htm0

If a retailer notices that you are using a stock photo copied from a website then yes they will ask ebay to remove your listing.
Photos are copyright and if a company is registered on the VERO programme they will get your auction listing pulled even quicker.
