Honey Bear, read the article with great interest, thanks - I'm afraid I laughed when he said a "non-alcoholic" night involved two beers and a bottle of wine!0

That comment's such a joy isn't it, Cathybird?!Well if I thought that after a dry January it would be easy to resist drinking a glass (or 2 or 3) of wine with my Sunday dinner, I was wrong. I didn't have any but I did have to grit my teeth somewhat. I was actually having an internal conversation along the lines of 'Go on, have a glass of wine, you done so well'. I'm going to stick to my no wine at home for now because I think if I started up again I would slide quickly back into my old habits.
So positive thoughts - I didn't have a drink even though I wanted one.
It's really unfair about booze. If the option's there, the temptation will always be there. The habit of having one isn't broken in a month, either, sadly as everyone who's done Dry January can attest. Well done to both you and Love a Sale for sticking to your guns. You've got a lot more willpower than I ever managed to muster in my drinking days.
I hope the floor leveling went smoothly, Green Karen. (Pun sort of intended.)
4/28 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

A weekly update from me
29/26 for January
Feb 2/22 so far - and managed to only have 1 glass of wine on Saturday
Last weeks SNC - 5/5
Put me down for 5/5 for this week too - currently on 1/50 -
I didn't manage to do all last week SNC, so it was 4/5. Ho hum.
I managed 28/16 for January. Happy with it in general, although I suppose I will always be annoyed at myself for breaking Dry January.
I drank Fri and Sat (more than what is recommended, but less than what I have drank in the past) and I found myself wanting to drink last night. Kinda of like, oh well, you can always start again tomorrow type of thing.
But I didn't. And I am rather pleased with myself. I left the bottle in the fridge. But it did make me think about my mindset. Why did I want to drink last night? No reason, just because. But when I was in the zone for "Dry Jan," Sundays were a breeze.
So I am up to 1/14 for this month and 1/5 for the SNC for this week.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Anybody else? What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
