What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Can I have 4 for SNC please. We have friends staying here this weekend but need to start AF again on Monday. I do agree with Honey Bear and Shaggy that reducing/stopping works but then so easy for consumption to creep up quickly on resumption. My OH is drinking little and I am sometimes then drinking more as we used to share a bottle of wine! And yes, once I have had two glasses I tend to carry on.
  • Honeybear that's prescient advice as I've started dealing with the first 'so why are you not drinking?' conversations with friends. Ideally I would like to go back to having the odd drink or pint of beer  but I do not want to go back to 2 or 3 (or more) bottles of wine a week or a bottle of wine in one sitting. My body just can't cope with it for one thing, for another I already have a high family risk of breast cancer and my stupidity only goes so far

    6/21 for me please.

Wishing you all the best for your trip Cathybird - hope it is an enjoyable one for you :)
  • Anyone else having difficulty with people pressuring you to drink? After having sepsis earlier this year, and now having food/drink intolerances to a lot of things as a result, I have found alcohol has triggered allergic reactions and now does not agree with me at all.
Lots of people saying 'well have you tried....' (insert alcoholic drink).

I've never known anyone allergic to nuts be asked 'have you tried....(insert another nut type).

Anyone got any other suggested words that work? I'm sure people don't meant to pressure, but i'm a little sick of being offered people's drink to try...

  • Can I please sign up for the school night challenge thanks.

Also, have been persuaded by a friend to do 'Stoptober' for Macmillan Nurses. So on 6/31 so far.

Love all the Halloween icons by the way :T
