It's satisfying. The mistake has to be on the page somewhere, so it's frustrating trying to work out what it is I'm not seeing until the penny drops - pun intended.

I do love a dancing flock!

Safe journey home Annie G. Sorry the job's come to an end - any chance of being able to do the same kind of thing again in the future? Good luck with the diet.

    5/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Hello lovely MSE - ers

Longtime reader of this thread but have not had anything to contribute before, however I would be interested if anyone has ideas or experiences about resuming after a period of abstinence? Yes I know that is slightly contrary to the spirit of this thread but I can’t have been the only one...?

I have just gone three complete months (actually 97 days as of today) completely AF, the first time in my adult life (I’m early 40’s) that I have been this long without a drink. The thing is, I’ve got some social things coming up soon where drinking will be a part of and also, it has to be said that I don’t want to cut alcohol altogether from my life so I would like to resume, I have proved to myself I can go without altogether if needed.

I am thinking there must be other people on this thread who have themselves gone AF for an extended time for whatever reasons, so what was it like when you started again?

To try and be more in keeping with this thread I should say that my aim is to drink less than I did before I stopped altogether, so I will aim for 21 AF days in Oct (I’ve already done 4 courtesy of the abstinence).

    Welcome!

I did 4 months in the beginning of 2016. I've also done the odd couple of months here and there, now and again - 3 months in 2010 and a month 2011, 12 and 2013. Must admit 3 weeks is the most I've done in a row this year - it would be nice to beat that before xmas....

I like going AF for longish periods - particularly good for losing weight!
