21/31 for me today please Baileys :)

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to a drink on my birthday this year. When I started the 90 days I didn't picture myself out in the garden on a warm sunny day, with the radio on and a nice cold bottle of anything non alcoholic in my hand.

Saturday was tough. Luckily I had to drive on Saturday evening and I think that was the one single factor that stopped me from bursting my 90day bubble. 50/90 today though :)
You can have results or excuses, but not both.

    11/15 for today please.

This warm weather and some very long days at work are not helping me but carrying on regardless.

Doingitanyway what concert was it? Hope it was good!
I went to the supermarket and it struck me how much cheaper my shopping is now I rarely buy wine. This falls into the category of the from the school of the blindingly obvious but I don't think I had appreciated how much I spent.

Another nice thing about taking control of drinking :)

I dread to think how much money I have drunk away... It's something I've noticed definitely. A bottle of wine or 2 and that's your shop up by £10/ £15 and if you're drinking regularly (too regularly) like I was

I worked it out when I stopped, and for the first two and a half years would spend that money on things I had always wanted but thought I couldn't afford. They're permanent additions to my life, too, which makes it even better.

I really like that idea... I've been sort of doing something similar. This month I've bought myself some new skincare products that have been on my 'want' list for a long time. Also got a nice summery dressing gown out of Tesco. Not extravagant, or permanent, but they are things I wouldn't normally have got because "I can't afford it". I'm finding one thing that's really helping me not drink is having a pattern that I stick to and focusing on my creams and serums etc. before bed is really helping. It's relaxing as well and I didn't think I could relax without a glass of wine :rotfl:

StitchyWitchy ten days on it's own is awesome and the fact that you did drink and it was controlled is great. I would take the fact that it didn't make you want to drink again the following night as a definite win.
22/31 today. Sunday was 4 weeks  I never thought it would be possible but am still feeling positive for not drinking. My mood has plummeted the last few days and I have been tempted BUT I've reminded myself that alcohol didn't make me happier, just made it easier for me to ignore my unhappiness.

Your posts are just fine. A lot of things occur to people who are changing old habits for new ones, and they pop into our heads at very random times. Post away - someone, if not everyone, will find something resonates.

    22/31 please, Baileys.
