More than likely, yes. Lloyd’s will have received a signed letter of authority from allay containing your scribble. Sometimes this might be from their initial contact forms giving them authorisation as they contain a clause stating that you’re also giving them permission to escalate to a complaint for you if the bank returns a ‘Yes PPI’ result.

You can complain though and escalate to FOS when they reject your complaint. They tend to take a dim view of these things, however don’t expect anything and you won’t be disappointed

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
  • I've emailed them asking for them to send me a signed copy of the contract. TBH I don't paying them, I'll get £1500 I never would have had. But, if they've forged my signature then that's different. Might phone Lloyds as well to ask to see the letter of authority.

How did you get on with them Andy?
Everything I read about them is negative press
  • Hi when I spoke to them regarding my other claim and asked for an email copy of the contract I apparently signed with them, they did actually send me a copy.  I also had money back that I wasn't expecting so I did pay their invoice.  This week I have been notified of another sum of money from Santander that is due to me.  I'm not complaining, again I will pay their invoice.

Hi, well I'm still 99% sure I never signed anything, however I got a good payout because of them so paid the fees. However a few weeks later, I suddenly got a BIG payment direct from Lloyds (over double the initial payment). Rang Lloyds and they confirmed it was an extra payout. Didn't have to pay Allay for that. So other than their constant bugging (I never spoke to them once) they did their job and it all worked out.
  • Do Allay take off their fees THEN pay your refund? I ask because letter I got from them seems to suggest me paying their fee forst then they pay me which seems dodgy. I filled put forms so long ago I can't remember if I completed theirs or not. Been reading lots of negatives about them online.

In the vast majority of cases, the redress comes to you first and you pay the CMC once it is received.  Not the other way around.

No, you will get your refund direct from the bank not from Allay.  Allay will send you an invoice which you should pay when you have received your refund.  They are pretty quick at sending out their invoices !  I have recently received a refund from Santander so will pay their invoice as again it was money that I was not expecting.  Also remember to claim your tax back from HMRC if you are entitled to do so.  This can be done by way of Form R40.  Again I have done this successfully.  All the best.

No. The Bank will send any redress awarded direct to you. The Claim firm will then bill you based on the Bank informing them of your success.

As said on your other thread:

it appears you used a "scattershot" approach  by allowing more than one claim firm to perform a  "free check" for PPI prior to actual complaint.

Also from your other thread, it appears you actually used Gladstone Brookes, but never informed Allay of that.
Now, while GB are telling you there is a "delay", Allay are still trying to entice you to complain in the first place by offering a "large payout". I doubt they will be asking for money upfront and you should re-read the letter they have sent.

I do hope you haven't signed Letters of Authority with both of these firms?

I’ve half a feeling Allay have been told it’s a duplicate complaint and are sending a speculative invoice with another from Gladstone to follow
