NST February A FOREST ADVENTURE

They have gone:wave::wave::wave::wave:
Yesterday was a NSD so 13/18
Finished two books on the sofa and used up lots of fridge things
The fuel light has not yet come on!
Today will be a cleaning/laundry/ inventory day with a spot of recreational / lunchbox baking.
Still within budget.
DS2 had a scuffle with DS1 when they got back from school, then took it out on DS3 for laughing at him. He held it together really well while the visitors were here, but I think the strain of behaving, plus then going back to school, took its toll. Who knew eating a cherry bun could cause 3 hours of misery?
Kids are daft. Well, my kids are daft:rotfl:.

greent - we had to build a model mott and bailey castle over the Christmas holidays, DS was totally stressed about it which annoyed me a lot, I won't buy anything for these ridiculous projects and I was going to write a stroppy letter but in the end we built it from Lego and he ended up in the school magazine with it. They learn absolutely nothing from these projects.
Today will be super spendy, my car is in for it's MOT and a service, they will wash and clean it though which is great news as it is completely plastered in mud in the boot and all footwells from a super muddy walk yesterday with the dog. We have the money to pay for this saved. Also the dog is going for his jab and the grocery shopping is being delivered.
DD is at the dentist for a brace adjustment so we are having a 'getting jobs done' day as her teeth will be aching so she won't want to go anywhere. I will try to get out on my bike too I think.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi turtles,
Apologies for lack of posting. Real life has been a bit hectic!
I think we're upto 10 NSDs. We have had a lot of spend days over the last week or so as work is finally getting done on the house. Really pleased we have managed to pay cash for everything so far, and not had to borrow any more, as DH has had a fair bit of work from the agency. Fingers crossed the cold weather is coming back and he gets called out on the gritters again!
We have the lurgy in our house, feeling rotten and it's making baby really grumpy too! Must drink more water to try and flush the germs out.
Sympathising with all the school projects - we (well, I) had to build the hanging gardens of Babylon!0 -

DS2 had to build a motte and bailey before Xmas - Y7 history, by any chance? He also built his out of Leg0 (as did several classmates - the teachers suggested baking a cake to do it!) - he's built several of these project things out of Leg0 over the years. DS3 is not as interested in the homework projects as DS2, and we've not done several of them - I wrote in on one topic sheet saying that neither of us liked doing them and I didn't see the point of them so I wasn't going to force him if he chose not to do it
(I didn't get a reply)
I've bought the occasional sheet of felt (h0bbycraft - 50p - £1) for these things, but nothing else. Same as dressing up for World Book Day - I'm not going to spend a heap of money on stuff for that, either! (I've seen parents spend £30 on an outfit for the day, probably never to be worn again....)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Good Afternoon Turtles-
Today is NSD #16. Hoping for my 17th tomorrow. Not too sure on my budgets after the tyre- but I am going to look tonight.
I have got £27 coming from work in amazon vouchers which I am going to try and buy something practical with to help out with tight budgets , I also have £11 of my own TCB vouchers, £8 m&s vouchers and £7 boots vouchers so I need to put those to use next month to help us make ends meet.
Free lunch today :T because we have guests at work, so I have, of course, put my prepped lunch in the fridge and I am digging inmore to do with saving time tonight than money but it is an added bonus. and the sarnies are much posher than I usually have
My frogs this week are- to write a thank you letter to my dear friend, and sort through some of my photos.
Hope you all have a lovely day0 -
Quick post for me. Food Shopping again today £7 in total, received £5 amazon gift voucher surveys.
On the chocolate confessions - I bought a jar of nutella for pancake day, however not a drop on pancakes. Just kept dipping a spoon in it everytime I was in the kitchen, all gone now. Yikes
Will catch up with everyone tomorrow, very busy day today.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -

I once made a cloak for World Book Day which had numbers and mathematical signs all over it - used material I had in and yellow felt (think that was leftover from making an emu puppet - DS2 was meithering for one of the ones streetsellers sometimes have and I said I could make him one, so I did).
The Mott and Bailey castle sounds familiar but I think we had a paper print out (with tiny tabs for glueing together). Teachers think it's an easy way in to the school year. Remember my first year at Grammar school we had to trace a Roman centurion out of the text book and colour it in. I remember the teacher saying, "Unfortunately the school does not provide tracing paper. However if you go into the toilets, the (Izal) toilet paper works excellently as tracing paper." Teachers also need things in the classroom for display when it's Parents Evening.
They are just trying to do 'learning is fun', like playing bingo in French at the end of term. All our turtle teachers do an excellent job and are unerpaid and pverworked. When I was small Friday was always 'toy day'. Each child was allowed to take in one toy and everyone spent the afternoon playing quietly. Suspect this was all the time the teachers needed in those days to complete all the paperwork for the week and preparation for the next. When we were in the top class infants our teacher was also the Headmistress.
I think today is my ground zero. Sleeping pattern is worsening and I am so tired of dragging myself through the days and feeeling bright as a button from midnight until 3am. It has to stop now. So I have been to crafts (taxi there and bus back as I feel absolutely rotten, sick and dizzy - the shoulder pain is not helping). Stopped in the town centre and bought 2 meal deals plus a ys sandwich and 3 packs of seeds + gogi berries (also ys) all paid for with my points (some accumulated for mum's shopping).
Dragged myself back home (had to stop to rest by the car park sign) and I am now back on the bed. Going to do any laptop activity early, after 9pm I can read or do some of my puzzle book. Will try my best to sleep but if not, I will rest and no screen activity, however bored I get (have several books so should be okay). Want to be awake at 6am- 7am (will set alarm) ready for a day of biscuit making with smalls and then go to my appointment (mum has already said she will pay for the taxi).
So no beating myself up, just one more fresh start. The only way is up.
Today I am grateful for new people at crafts + some returners, for a few things we tried turning out okay (some need more work and some preparation, but in theory it works), for my bed and for the bath I will have later (might risk a hot chocolate though I really should not - fed up, far too many should nots in my life). Put the positive head back on. Lovely injection to make the pain go away, new alarm clock (will try very hard not to kill it), food, books and drinks to hand (including lots of water) and a plan in place for tomorrow - will sort the rest later.
Do we have any eager beaver volunteers for running the March thread? My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
