good morning turtles
today is a spend day- off to get the kids feet measured & get shopping in. so I am still on 17.
I have had a slight disaster with Tax free childcare , after a year of issues I thought it was sorted but it seems to have stopped working again. the way it works is; I pay money into it, the govt (which I shall withhold my opinion of) top it up with 20% & then i set up a payment from that account to my childcare provider. I have 1 account per child.only one of them hasn't sent my money . it was supposed to yday but didn't , so I have set up a payment to go out today but again it hasn't. bottom line- not only am I missing the govt top up but the account has £500 of my own cash that I cannot access. My eldest childs payment has gone out no problem but my youngest's hasn't & my payment is due next week. we have a small EF but the reality is that I am working for nothing until my son goes free in September & if this doesn't work I am losing cash at a rate I just cannot afford:( I cannot believe they can do this to people. or imagine what people do if they have no spare cash.
hub did get £50 tips last night which leaves our EF at £900& I ordered a potty for my toddler with some vouchers work gave me. little wins.
off to the beach today for fish & chips , stick of worrying about childcare costs & determined to try not to panic & enjoy my day with my gorgeous boys.
Oh no, what a shambles that whole system is. This is how people could end up with a pay day loan to try and bridge the gap.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Have spent way too much this half term and it is mainly on food. We have £10 left for today and the weekend so we will have to do some free things. DH has taken our other car into the garage this morning, it has a couple of faults but it is only 18 months old so will be under the warranty. I baked some Anzac biscuits last night, I decided to not buy biscuits this week and make them in a bid to reduce waste but I still had to buy coconut in plastic:mad:.
DD is having a friend to sleep over tonight but I'm not doing anything special, they are going to walk to the co-op and get some sweets and I'll just leave them too it.
DD is having her bedroom decorated in the next few weeks, the last time it was done she was 7, she is 14 now and not at all into pink so there is a lot to change, I picked up a large wall mirror this week from a charity shop, it has a solid pine frame and is in very good condition, I paid £5 for it, I am going to make her some new curtains and paint her bedside cupboard but it is still going to be a fairly costly re-vamp.
Sold one of DD's items on ebay last night which netted her another £8, I wish someone would photograph and list my items, answer queries, pack and post them and just give me the money.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

No pressure there then:eek:
Yesterday decent food shop Sainsbobs and bought 2 tops in the sale. However had £40 in vouchers thanks to surveys so only cost me £11:D
Quidco payment £23
Decided to go ahead with french doors, will keep that figure as a seperate debt to my rest. Always wanted them since I moved in and plan I will be able to sit in my dining room, enjoy sunshine(south facing) with doors open. Bit of haggling and got a good price plus now including a downstairs toilet window which is knackered.:D
Club biscuit day:D:D:D giving blood later so brew and one after to look forward to.

I've made the brownies and the cookies as I wanted some treats that meant that I wasn't eating dd'd gf/df stuff, and that weren't full of sugar. And since dd doesn't like bananas, I'm not stealing her stuff.. Yum!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Hi,
just a little cheer :j and Hello :hello:from the sidelines. February went ok so far.
HOWEVER, turned 40 this month and am not debt free as planned. So I will join again next month. The CC is paid off but some family debt is left. And I WILL stop lending DH money.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for the new challenge.
See you in March

NSD 15 done and dusted!!
Rang remortgage bods and they quickly did what they were supposed to do 3 days ago while I was on the phone. Should have confirmation on Monday of change of provider on Thursday - why do they have to leave everything to the last minute???
Anyway I will ring up and hassle again on Monday,

Today I am grateful for finally getting the mayan temple out of the house and in to school, for dd's teacher commenting on a certain detail on it which showed that she'd looked at it carefully, for dropping off some old shoes and the library books, for my workout, for the lady who works in the chemist, for my first attempt at a fish pie being successful, for dd loving her brownies 'thinking day' evening (?!).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
