Today I am grateful for a lazy day, for pottering on, for dd having a lazy pottering day too (goodness - we've only been back a week and we're wrecked!), for warm food, for a chat with dh, for my book, for dh having a few extra hours work tomorrow, for the knowledge that should the nasty weather arrive and everything grind to a halt, I am fit enough to walk to or from work, for knowing that my mum is safe and looked after and I don't have to worry about her doing anything silly.

    Quiet, kid free rooms.

    NSDs
three more to the score. Not doing well at all this month.

    Exercise & Health
Pilates is proving to be one of the best things I have ever done. It's always ...interesting to say hello to my toes. I'm now looking forward to it on a weekly basis. - Haven't stepped on the scales for two weeks. Keep forgetting - still sticking to plan though.

All in all, the extra hours I am putting in to pass this Maths for Skills for work and life thing is sucking all spare time I have. It's making me a grumpy git, cause the housework is getting left out and of course no one else can sort/find/do anything. Can't wait to get the test out the way a week on Wednesday.

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it.

Nothing will work unless you do.

If you don't like something, change it. if you can't change it, change your attitude

Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud

You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely acknowledge the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty

My mission in life is not merely to survive but to thrive and to so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style.

All Maya Angelou (I know I have used the last one before but I think it's wonderful)

I know I've been quiet the past few days - thinking of asking for a refund on being 60. The shoulder pain is arthritis and the settling in period has been a little unsettling. I looked up what painkillers could be safely taken alongside the injection and read that it can make my diabetes worse (knew this) but also my depression (will have to monitor that) and may further compromise my immune system. Also recieved a letter about the bowel screening programme which is a good thing and I intend to participate but it did add to the general feeling of decrepitude. The problem with my knee is arthritis, will get worse and means a further replacement operation somewhere down the line. Oh joy!

I hope the other 11 months don't turn out like this or I will be a complete wreck.

Baby brother is ill again and it's looking increasingly likely that I will outlive both my brothers (middle one died 11 years ago). Mum is already fearing the worst, she was tearful when she phoned me with the news and on Friday she was nearly begging me not to die before her.

I am not wallowing in gloom and doom but it has been a period of assimilation. Things are going to be different and adjustments must be made. I need to build on what I can do and keep flexible. Going to spend the next month or so working out what I can do and finding new ways to do the things that are difficult.

Today I am grateful for being able to rest, the pain in my shoulder being manageable and simple easy food (mostly leftovers and bits from the fridge).

The first few flakes of snow have just started falling in (Le)Shire.
    All lunches packed
    Breakfast table set
PE kits by the front door

The kids are discussing if school is likely to be shut down

    Hugs mothernerd

We had a couple of flakes of snow this morning but at the moment it is dry and very bright. Local radio said snow this afternoon but bbc weather says light snow shower - we'll see.

Today is payday so my March budgets start. I will post the actual budgets next month. I am on a no buy for March with the exception of essentials, emergencies and DD's decorating items, I keep a track of what is spent outside of budgets each month and too much of it is frittered away.
