  • Will there be a March one of this thread? :D I've totally enjoyed reading this months daily posts and I made a list of my elephants and frogs which I've tackled quite well this month (although was a little late joining the thread to log my progress)

If so I would love to join for next month!

Today was not a NSD as I worked out I had £22.54 left in the budget,
I now have 67p. Tomorrow is payday.

I went to Her0n and bought lots of nakd bars (3 for £1) trek bars (3for £1) dark chocolate coated marzipan bars (39p) then went to the cheapy nearly out of date shop and bought posh granola/muesli/flakes for 50p a bag, posh in-date crisps but at half the price - works out at 10p a bag for Olive oil and black pepper crisps, and muesli bars plus a few bits for the freezer to make 3 proper main meals from.

So all things that will go in lunchboxes. or for DofE expeditions, or for meals, but I just wanted to spend something, and instead of going to the supermarket and just buying ice cream. I spent an hour and a half doing the equivalent of charity shop food shopping. I think it was something to do with feeling cold all day.

Nothing was 'supermarket price' it was all vastly reduced. But still, it was very much a frivolous spend. It will help out next week though and it was still within my very tight budget. Tomorrow will be a NSD.

  • Today I am grateful for my counsellor, for walking in the falling snow, for being warm, for getting the shopping done, for dd having fun playing out for aaages after school, for finding the letter for dd's eye appt on thurs, for sorting a frog email, for a catch up with big sis, for coffee fairy cakes, for my workout (I managed to do all 20 bunny slope workouts this month, having not managed all of them in both dec and jan. Smug face is on!)

  • Evening all...

    Today = NSD number 14

Thanks F0xh0les for the positive encouragement there!!! I am loving cooking and tasting all these foods and new flavours! Ok - so the washing up isn't so much fun - but put a bit of music on and it soon flies by!

Pay day today - so that means budget time for the month ahead. Thanks Applemuncher for volunteering to do March... You are an absolute STAR!

    Thanks for running February Mothernerd.

We could have done much better this month but February half term is what derailed us.

Snowing quite a bit here today and lots more forecast, DH has the day off and has set off to school with the kids in a blizzard, I rang and said they should turn back and now it has all but stopped. Not sure what he is doing and what to do for the best, school isn't particularly local and I'm worried about them getting stranded.

Today we are planning to start decorating DD's room, we spent £75 last night on wallpaper, paint, filler and loads of other boring bits so there is only £25 left in what I had allowed to spend this month on it.

Good Morning turtles_party__ Happy pay day _party_

Snow day today. Will need to do a bit of work from home but I not even going to attempt to drive in this. I have never seen so much snow & its still coming down!!

work emailed me yesterday to say I was getting a £1000 bonus - woohoo. I have had to pay tax on it of course, but my EF is now £1750. very chuffed. just waiting on an email to say my childcare has been recieved and I will be home & dry. after 12 months worth of problems I do not trust them though!!

looks like despite its best efforts to go wrong on balance Feb has been a successful one- thank yo so much MotherNerd for running the challange & for every one elses support & encouragement :)

    see yoyu in March!!!! :D

I miss a fabulous shop called Fult0n F00ds, they are only north of Nottingham. It is like Her0n, only half the price:rotfl:
