    Happy Happy Happy PAYDAY!

I will get my £3 bribe from H0lifax for not going into my overdraft.
I will get cashback from H0lifax for one of their partner deals.
PA is set to payout £15
VO is set to payout £5
DH paid me back the last £100 for his car insurance.
Not done too badly this month. So I shall cash them all out today and be ready for March.

Checked on the old people - all fine and toasty at home, busy feeding the birds. Nothing to worry about but they are waiting to see what Emma will bring.

Today is budget setting day ready for all the bills to go out tomorrow.

So time to juggle some money around.

The weather is bitterly cold but dry and not an ounce of snow. Not even needed to scrape the car any day this week. And that concludes the weather report in (Le) Shire.

    Keep warm turtles.

Mothernerd - Thanks for running this month's thread.
    NSD achieved today - 19/18.
Have totalled up the month's spending. Food/household is under budget. Other spending is high. Really have to look at cutting back.
    Grateful for:
Having day off work as I went to an event I usually go to every year.
Bringing my own lunch and flask of tea as refreshments at the event are expensive.
Won an £5 voucher at the event, which is going to be sent to me. Asked for M&S voucher.
Having my water meter read as the bill is less than the previous estimated bill they original sent by £9. Got the read bill today.
Managed to change my electric tariff from 1st April. My current one ends 31st March.
Having most of the cost of the policy I took out on the cooker. It is down £50 from what I spent. Better than nothing. A cheque is going to be sent.
Spending the rest of the day in my pj's and chilling out.

Today I am grateful for a warm coat, for tramping through the snow, for lovely canteen staff, for a speedy journey home with a cheery bus driver, for dd meeting me off the bus, for dd's knee being better (she whalloped it yesterday whilst sledging and was in pain last night) for getting things done at work, for finding my pot of drawing pins (I was so lost without it!).

Thank you for feb, mothernerd. The quotes have been awesome.

Final round up from me for February:
NSDs - 11/18 Not unhappy with this. Shopping little and often suits me better than big bulk shops :)

    Other than that:
    Donation to foodbank - done
    Groceries - £218.94 / £250.00 :T
Pet food - £3.00 / £10.00 (he is only little, and I had food in :))
Diesel - £93.02 / £65  OH decided to fill the tank even though it wasn't particularly low. Still, most of the fuel is still in there, so not too worried about this.
    Presents - £40 / £50
Toiletries and cleaning supplies - £36.64 / £30, so a bit over there.

Other categories were lower than last month, too :)

Pleased, on the whole, and looking forward to the March challenge :)

Thanks for the challenge Mothernerd, and take care of yourself. See you in March :D

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in this month's challenge and those who have read along (some with their lycra and pompoms). Hugs to those who have been ill and those who have suffered loss. Consoling pats to everyone whose household goods have let them down and full marks for those who have done battle with corporations or government departments.

Many of us had a difficult month and survived with grace and dignity (and lots of tongue biting in some cases). Congratulations to those who made all their targets. If you did not quite meet your targets, well done for the things you did manage and consider if you did better than you would have done without the challenge.

Keep plodding and always look on the bright side of life.

Today I am grateful for it not snowing whilst I was outside, for companionship and achievements at crafts (one participant made several paper flowers with a little help - other people have told her it would be too difficult for her to do them) and for having several hours of sleep (some were even in night-time hours).

When the weather gets rough Wear Some Fluff

Many of the quotes are serendipitous. I had some gathered together and picked a selection according to how I felt on any particular day, but then I often saw something new on the day which just 'fit' with whatever I was feeling or had happened to one of the turtles.

Today (and yesterday) I am grateful for my panda hat, big wraparound grey thing with pockets and a hood, jumper, long- sleeved t-shirt, extra t-shirt/ nightdress (a long t-shirt so never get a gap in the middle), thermal gloves, socks, fluffy boots and thick, velvetty jog pants.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Me and my big mouth
This afternoon I have lived in a snow globe.
The snow has not 'stuck' but it fell, and it was magical.

The school playground thermometer read -4 as I stood, waiting for them to let the kids out. I gave up trying to speak once my jaw started shivering so hard I could barely think.

The hot water bottles have been deployed.

    Batten down the hatches

    She's gonna blow!

Thanks for the forest adventure mothernerd!
