NST February A FOREST ADVENTURE

Hi all :j
Good nights sleep makes all the difference...have new system now which seems to be working better...
Always : Will try to make sure I can make/save some money this month instead of always spending up to the max..Had to go to an appointment today in a town I haven't been to in quite a while so did spend - only on food YS bargains mainly, too good to leave...
First : Agree
Organise : Did eat at home before we left but got such good YS items that we had one of them for supper. Will inventory fridge (s) tomorrow but no shopping for food will be needed..honest!
Reserve : Already make a charity donation each month from joint acc. Will also set up a DD for an animal one. Still to do
Environment : Out to a nearby town, love the architecture, made time after the appointment to see a local attraction - from 1776 - that has been refurbished. Was fantastic, but not many bodies there today. Back home to pouring rain & garden mudbath, heyho..
Stock take : Lunch & dinner all from fridges/freezer still haven't had to chuck anything as yet which I thought I would. Need to stocktake all other food stocks (kitchen cupboards, pantry, larder, cellar ) will start tomorrow. Keep saying this & not doing it...
Takeaways are forbidden (unless as part of family entertainment night/ birthday choice). Coffee shops, vending machines, works canteens etc are also banned (pastoral exceptions): Not planning on any takeaways, too much food here to need any.
Always take your lunch to work and snacks and drinks for outings or appointments: Did this.
Do something different. If nothing changes, nothing changes. We want to see small positive changes which become habits and then just part of who you are. Pick 2 or 3 things you want to change. Start with one small change and after five successful days, add another: Kept surface clear & did new routine with dogs. We may be making a rather big change, which will mean being out of the country for quite a while...therefore need to get on with changes here asap.
Valentine Who? : Card only for DH, already have. Got YS items to make meal next week already..
Exercise 5 times a week please: Could well be gardening or clearing, cleaning etc but will aim to be active. Walking round attraction, plus walking up to town - all Yorkshire towns seem to be built on hills..
NSDs are staying at 18 this month: Still 2/18
Big push on this, much clearing needs to be done but refuse to toss useful stuff, will freecycle or CS - but preferably sell! Have photos ready to list now, will list this weekend.
Use what you have. Fix something : Have some knobs on drawers cupboard etc in bedroom that have come adrift. Need superglueing or I have already bought 4 new ones if not fixable. Not done yet. Have quite a bit of paint, paper etc & can use this to refurb & refresh house.
Refuel properly: Will do this, already am taking some steps to improve health & sleep patterns. Taking supplements now & bedtime tea, seems to be working. Tea combined with pillow spray etc got me to sleep, refuel needs a reboot as eating too much carp.
Elephants and Frogs: Frog printer tackled today & is now working, albeit intermittently. Elephant - sorted two bags of stuff DD brought round for me to take to CS. Some only fit for rags, some summer stuff that will get ragged if I take it in now, and some I can take on Tues. Not much on this today, but did realise that it needs to get done before the garden explodes into life...no sorting today, but will try & press gang DH into helping tomorrow. Need to do 3 phone calls now..
Thanks mothernerd for running the challenge, it is very much appreciated even though I am not a model turtle pupil yetNew start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Have we a naughty step still
Spent as forecast on some cookies for grandson and I ate two. Diet huh.:o
Had a bit of time to kill before school collection so bought a jumper for myself thinking it will be great for work however decided why do I only buy clothes for work. It would look fab with jeans at just £10 hope my stay in the naughty step won't be for long:)
Decided bf is in one of his moods really there must be better out there. Just need to find one :rotfl:
I think you were just making sure there was no food waste. Sympathy on the bf front, think you are incredibly brave. I ditched the last one rather than nurse him through the third bout of depression brought on by the behaviour of the woman he was seeing (the one he did not tell me about). Should have known when his friends said "We like this one", the first time we went out.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

sashanut - what attraction did you visit? I live in Yorkshire and am always looking for new things to do locally. BTW I love our hills particularly cycling up them (I love the satisfaction at the top not the journey up so much).
apple - my house is the same, I would be interested to hear what you have planned to make yours better for minimal spends.
Posted an ebay sale yesterday, the £6.83 I made on it has gone into our holiday pot, I listed some more things too. I keep letting things go bit by bit, I have made my peace with the original money spent, the damage is done there but I will make much better choices in the future.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Only one at home off school today. I can just about scrape by with no shopping today but it will be very necessary tomorrow. So NSD 7 but I am having to get a bit creative and the meal plans went out the window. Tonight will just be a simple tomato pasta - they are all complaining about sore throats and so I am just keeping it simple. No fuss. Soft foods. Plenty of hot drinks and cold ice pops. Might make another tray of flapjacks for them.
So, today will be keeping DS3 happy on the sofa, hopefully the Winter Olympics will help somewhat, and getting creative in the pantry, and making tempting treats and some time-trial speed cleaning.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Calling just noticed you mentioned saving for blinds - have you already decided where you are getting them from? Only ask as we got a really good deal from a local company when we moved house. Happy to pm details if you want them?
5 NSDs to date. Today will be a spend day as me and DH have a rare evening to ourselves and are making the most of it and having a night out. Will keep spends minimal though.0 -
