    Fmess I'm shocked. When I was young I was friends with someone I worked with. Her house always looked tidy, despite having young children. One day she admitted that she never cleaned her oven - because no-one ever looked in your oven.
    My mission in life is not only to survive,but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Ha ha I also never clean my oven mothernerd . I don!!!8217;t know why, I clean everything else - fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster etc but never in the oven.

    Yesterday was s spend day as I bought fruit and veg and got my hair cut. My budgets are all gone already. This month is not going well financially :( however I only have one more plan to socialise and just is when my friend and new baby come up from London :)

    Today will be a spend free day, I have school work to do and lots of little chores around the house.

    Always pay to debts or savings first - car & 0% CCs on direct debit. 'Regular' spending CC cards always paid off in full by start of month. Once kitchen/ workmen fully paid for this month we will know what (if any!) we have left and that can go to OH's 0% CC. Any extra monies will also go there - small amount of cashback claimed and added to kitchen fund at mo - as any excess is going to CC anyway :) - should hopefully be paying for last of the kitchen (and bathroom) workmen bills within next 7-10 days and then I'll know exactly where we are :j

    First of February until the 28th, inclusive.
    Organise your budgets before the start of the month and stick to them.
    * Food 114.66/450 -
    * Diesel (me) - 0/65
    * Toiletries - 0/10
    * Clothing - 17.99/100 - OH bought some sports stuff
    * Social - 0/50
    * Half term - 0/75
    * Money in - 28.40/50

    Reserve a small portion of your budget (cash or goods) for the food bank or charity of your choice. - ok. Monthly DD to WWT. Should be attending a charity coffee morning next weekend and paid out 3.10 to school charity things. Also a small bag of toiletries to foodbank

    Environment

    Stock take your cupboards, fridge and freezer. Base your meal plan upon them and your shopping list on what is needed. Stick to your list. - desperately in need to top up supplies once kitchen is in! In the meantime we are shopping for little bits 'n pieces and eating stuff up from freezer
    Takeaways are forbidden (unless as part of family entertainment night/ birthday choice). Coffee shops, vending machines, works canteens etc are also banned (pastoral exceptions). may have family takeaway as social if budget unspent elsewhere.

    Always take your lunch to work and snacks and drinks for outings or appointments (may excuse one trip with children or allow ice creams etc if part of the experience). - have half term budget- will take lunches if applicable but something like ice creams may fall into budget here

    Do something different. If nothing changes, nothing changes. We want to see small positive changes which become habits and then just part of who you are. Pick 2 or 3 things you want to change. Start with one small change and after five successful days, add another.

    Valentine Who? after 30+ years together we don't really do Val now :) (although I may buy some of the flowers for myself afterwards if they have been reduced :D

    Exercise 5 times a week please. It should be commensurate with your abilities and current state of health (be careful after flu/ viruses). Getting outside helps with mental health too. - Am finally around 95-97% better post-flu (still tiring easily) Will start 'formal' exercise after half term. However half term brings a bowling trip, lots of house sorting (lots of steps and stairs) and (weather dependent) canal-side walks to see the swans and then go to the play areaNSDs are staying at 18 this month. Exceptions for medical care, petrol (should be within budget), bus fares, ys bargains and milk for greent. :D 4/18 - another one yesterday
    Throw it away.-recycle or donate appropriately but we all have too much stuff -looking to remove 150 items this month - whether sell/ donate/ recycle/ bin - 12/150 (yesterday's progress was identifying things for flebay - so not out, but will be heading that way)

    Use what you have. Fix something (for free if possible). we need to update our house to do list this month - some jobs are being done as we have workmen in for the kitchen so are having them do some other bits whilst here (more cost efficient :)) My main focus is a big clean and tidy- lots of dust spread everywhere from the works - some small jobs now ticked off. Clean up is continuing :)
    Refuel properly. Feb is a month of re-charging for me :)

    Elephants and Frogs. .Am sure I can find some frogs. An elephant I need to tackle is getting OH's co accounts for the year ready for the accountant
    I think this will be a post-half term job!

    F0xh0les - £23 on ice cream sounds quite reasonable to me!! I looked at the b&j dairy free ones, and one of them contains gluten (d'uh) and dd doesn't lile the other.

    Sadly it seems that the space B&Js are taking up is knocking Almond Dream off the shelves. Which means online ordering if I want mint choc chip - salted caramel is still available in the local Arseda.

    Tesco cornetto style strawberry and vanilla and toffee nut are both dairy and gluten free. The look on M-i-L's face when I told her she could eat them as well (she was just about to start on a poor me I honestly think if she changed her attitude from ' I can't eat that anymore (sniff, sniff, cow-eyes)' to 'that will make me ill if I eat it' she would be easier to get along with.

    I have heard strange whisperings about M&S doing a dairy free caramel magnum style ice cream on a stick. I have not found it yet, but I shall one day find it on my travels. It does exist. One to hunt for.

    Anyway, Alpro coconut ice cream is 2 for £1 in Her0n at the moment. Will keep an eye out if any more comes in. I walked in one day and they had swedish glace neapolitian boxes for £1. My freezer was rammed for weeks. :rotfl:

    My name is f0xh0les and I might have an ice-cream habit:(

  • foxh0les my little one has an ice cream addiction. The party last night had an Ice Cream machine & my LO had 3 (one given by me, one stolen off me & one he got off his Dad despite me repeatedly telling him no more)

    today is NSD #8 hurrah. aiming to be on 13 by this time next week. Id actually love to get to 20.:j

    the MSE Gods have smiled down on me too & I got a £20 M&S voucher in the post which I can spend on food that will do for this week & I can save the 30 pounds in my account for the week after.

    lost a whole lb at weigh in, a bit disappointed as Ive stuck to plan but I have big hopes for next week. need to keep at it.

    regretting my choice to work so much next week but I know the OT will come in on pay day- I will be glad I did it.:D

    pancake party today with our friends. looking forward to it. kids have had a great weekend at really very little cost, just goes to show! very much looking forward to spring now & getting the boys out & about.

    have a fab day all xx:cool:

    My internet has been playing up but I think it is all sorted now, fingers crossed.

    I am on NSD no.6 today - will attempt to get five this next week. Planned spend day today as we need to go shopping. Budget is looking good though. I have not got much to report really, it has all been work and sleep this week.

    I am helping out my manager next week to help with planning, so I am assuming it is going to be a long week. Hopefully I will make up quite a bit of flexi time as I would like some days off in April.

    I am also applying for a supervisor role so helping out next week will help me understand if this is something I want to do - it will help me decide if I really want to be a supervisor or not!

    Quiet day. NSD. I've spent much of the day cleaning/ washing up (lots of the things packed away needed cleaning) /putting things away in kitchen/ dealing with laundry. OH has mopped the kitchen floor and watched rugby.....

    Tomorrow won't be a NSD. OH is working from home, so I shall leave him in charge of smallest 2 (and kitchen fitter) and take DS1 jeans shopping..... (argh!) I also need some food shopping - big-ish shop in A1di and smaller (for some branded items) in Sains (have a discounted gift card to use) Oh - and we need a new loo seat for our bathroom (doesn't fit a standard one from the usual places :() (£50!:eek:) - I shall pop into the store (on the way into town anyway) if I remember and see if I can get one ordered to collect it from there - as postage for it to be delivered to home is an eye watering £20!:eek::eek: - with no option online for click and collect :mad:

    Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep, for a smooth journey, for shop-bought tikka masala, for friendly people, for watching a snowstorm, for said snowstorm not lasting long or settling, for all 3 of us being 'away' together, for a good rugby game on tv.
