NST February A FOREST ADVENTURE

I have had a lovely day today
Every time I have gone out it has snowed, it was beautiful.
DS3 managed to go out with DH for a bike ride for under an hour this morning (one lap of the park) before the snow started. He was betrayed by the bright sunshine. He came back frozen and has vowed only to ride a bike in summer. Hot drinks and biscuits sorted him out, but he still claims it was the worst bike ride ever.:rotfl:
DH is having a tooth pulled tomorrow, so soft food is on the menu for the next few days. Pain meds in the medical kit (biscuit tin) ready to go.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Foxholes - thank you for the reminder about those tesco 'cornettos'. We have had them when away, but there's no nearby store here, so I'd forgotten.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

not the best of days today as our lovely Grandad passed away
some nice moments though telling each other lovely stories about him & sharing memories
bit of a rubbishy, nothing achieved kind of day.
greatful for- my babies curls, my little boy buying me a rose plant for Valentine's day, good friends & pancakes0 -
Hugs Laurenh1. Telling each other stories about your grandad sounds like a good way to spend your time - the chores will always be there another day.
I have had a NSD (did the tale end of mum's shopping, could not carry any more yesterday). Shifted a mountain of washing up (none hidden in the oven) and recycling (suspect there is more in their room but have not been able to get in there) and put together two small shelf units (only the same size as a large spice rack but will take wider things). Started a serious purge of paperwork (maybe other stuff too). If lifting and moving things is going to be difficult, the more I can lose the better.
Today I am grateful for it only snowing when I was indoors, for an entertaining tv series or 2 (2007 and 1989 respectively) and for hot baths (helps my shoulder). Still not cracked the sleeping thing but it's getting closer (have to work out the timing of the painkillers/ allow time for unwinding so my body and brain are ready to switch off at the same time). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all :j
Forced down another of the worse sleepy teas, not helped by the teabag busting when squeezed too firmly. This led to a coughing fit from the herbs, only lessened by the application of several Matchmakers..
Always : Will try to make sure I can make/save some money this month instead of always spending up to the max..No spends today
First : Agree
Organise : BLT sandwiches for lunch & HM Chinese meal for supper, wasn't my favourite but DH was happy. Sadly there is portion left which will be a lunch, maybe I can get him to eat it..
Reserve : Already make a charity donation each month from joint acc. Will also set up a DD for an animal one. Still to do
Environment : Cripes it was Baltic outside today, lots of snow showers. Gorgeous tulips, but they were inside..
Stock take : Still lunch & dinner all from stocks in fridges/freezer - only had to chuck some stir fry & a couple of salady bits. Need to stocktake all other food stocks (kitchen cupboards, pantry, larder, cellar ) will start tomorrow. When is this mythical tomorrow when I am going to inventory??
Takeaways are forbidden (unless as part of family entertainment night/ birthday choice). Coffee shops, vending machines, works canteens etc are also banned (pastoral exceptions): Not planning on any takeaways, too much food here to need any.
Always take your lunch to work and snacks and drinks for outings or appointments: will do.
Do something different. If nothing changes, nothing changes. We want to see small positive changes which become habits and then just part of who you are. Pick 2 or 3 things you want to change. Start with one small change and after five successful days, add another: Surface still clear but still the only one!! Changed back the routine this evening for the animals but realised that's not good, wolf-like howling unfair on neighbours tbh. Resume new regime tomorrow, works much better. No sign of tree surgeon this weekend as promised, Stuart - I'm coming for Ya!!
Valentine Who? : Card only for DH, already have. Got YS flowers yesterday, they look lovely & I can use them as my Valentines, no need to get any more..
Exercise 5 times a week please: Could well be gardening or clearing, cleaning etc but will aim to be active. Very slack with this today, oops..
NSDs are staying at 18 this month: NSD today so now 5/18
Big push on this, much clearing needs to be done but refuse to toss useful stuff, will freecycle or CS - but preferably sell! Have photos ready to list now, will list this weekend. There is only tomorrow left of the weekend, so tomorrow! Listed only one item on FB, no interest sadly..
Use what you have. Fix something : Have some knobs on drawers cupboard etc in bedroom that have come adrift. Need superglueing or I have already bought 4 new ones if not fixable. Not done yet. Maybe will need to buy more outside paint, the one I used was rubbish...Cord that open curtains has broken, have to get up ladder to try & see how to fix it. Need DH to hold ladder as ceilings so high. Took photo of pulley effort from upstairs so I can see how to bodge the downstairs one. DH fixed hoover from where I inadvertently sucked up a plastic bag. Used risotto rice & almond milk for rice pudding, surprisingly nice..although not cost effective in the long term I shouldn't think. Have a rice mountain so will be trying different sorts, watch this space.
Refuel properly: Will do this, already am taking some steps to improve health & sleep patterns. Taking supplements now & bedtime tea, seems to be working. Tea combined with pillow spray etc got me to sleep, eventually , evening my downfall as we still have stocks of chocolate etc.
Elephants and Frogs: Frog printer tackled today & is now working, albeit intermittently. Elephant - sorted out some of DHs old polo shirts that will only be ragged at CS but that's fine, he won't wear them again as he found some that actually fitted him & never wears the old ones.
Frogs: 2 emails sent
Good point re the trees f0xh0les, can sense a theme here. DH was so enamoured by the Christmas tree we had this year, he refused until relatively recently, to remove it. It was a real one, it dropped virtually no needles, he watered it faithfully. It is now residing behind the shed, he is sure if he waters it, it will be OK for next year. Bless!
Thanks mothernerd for running the challenge, it is very much appreciated even though I am not a model turtle pupil yetNew start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed.
Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.
Be an encourager. The world has plenty of critics already.
