    Yesterday does not define you

    Clutter smothers, simplicity breathes

I am content with daily progress

Internet ate my post just after midnight. Trying again with short quotes.

    Your time is limited
So don't waste it living someone else's life
    Don't be trapped by dogma
which is living with the results of other people's thinking
Don't let the noise of other people's opinions drown out your own inner voice
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition
They somehow already know what you truly want to become
    Everything else is secondary

Thank you Foxholes. Did it take you 6 months to complete on a new home? We're out of the chain now but not owning your own home is so hard when u have owned a house so long.

12 weeks from offer, we had the keys. The house was a probate sale so nobody to move out. Absolutely no reason for it to have even taken that long.

Have a look at past sales(6 months) on the house-stalking websites - you will see houses that would have suited you, that somehow you never saw advertised - as the estate agents have a list of people they ring first before it even goes on their website but after they take the photos - They rang me at 7pm to tell me about the house, I had already seen photos and thought I would have loved that house but the sale fell through twice:T to investors. I saw it at 9am the next day, and we were the 4th set of people through the door (all investors). Sale agreed before 10.

Make nice with the Estate agents, even if they are slimy - it is the month's task to deal with toads, and ALWAYS answer your phone to the estate agent. Tell them your situation and tell them it is urgent - they get annoyed at people mucking about and not in a position to buy, so line everything up, and go looking.

And organise a few weekends away if you can so that relatives can have a bit of respite. It happens surprisingly often, I have had spare rooms full of friends' stuff while they were moving and ended up with a week where they were sofa surfing with all their stuff as they did not want to break the chain.

And now you can be cheeky and make a slightly lower offer. No chain is valuable.

Plus your bank balance looks AMAZING - enjoy every day of it.

DH had a tooth pulled and he is horrifically grumpy and tbh sulking like a 3 yr old.
An expensive implant is on the cards.

2 boys coughing horribly all night long. Grrr. I am waiting for them to get up, with the chest rub next to me. Then I will pounce. eta- I have pounced

Today should not be very spendy, Lots of cleaning and tidying and getting ready for visitors on Friday.

  • Foxh0les apple Muncher the same with me, re password. 5 days :rotfl:

Today should be NSD #11. I am going shopping but using my gift card, however I do have to pay parking but get it knocked off my bill at the end, so it will go back on my gift card if that makes sense. Hope that's ok Mothernerd?

    Budgets are still the same-
    1000 emergency fund
    700 paris fund
    100 xmas 18
20 spends  HOWEVER tax free childcare have issued me with a payment of £100 as compensation for all the hassle I have had. I would like to put this to a new dining table but I wont do anything with it just yet. I need more than that anyway for a dining table but it will be a start if nothing else crops up.

hub went YS shopping last night- didn't do too bad. I have suggested we start taking it in turns :rotfl:he is not up for it. Also did insanity (the exercise programme) so feeling good about that. These are the things I need to start implementing in my life until they become the norm.

Fuel is getting a bit tight so I need to watch that- hub is driving us to swimming on Sunday to save my fuel :T roll on pay day :D:D:D

Same here with the password re-set.

Just plodding on here at the moment, very cold, nothing exciting happening, DH is off work after today and all next week so we will be out and about with the kids a bit but what we do depends on the weather. We are hoping to do some painting in the house too, had a look at what paint we had and we have enough to do some touching up.

Hope tomorrow goes smoothly Kerry Woman.

Today I am grateful for a smooth trip home, for being home, for getting dd's camera back, for doing a workout, for a super warm train, for a simple but yummy tea, for the washing machine, for the interweb.
