foxholes - if an estate agent finds a property you like do you actually have to pay them as well as the seller paying their fee? I am staggered if this is so. The last time I bought a house was 2002 and that wasn't the case here then.

No, but you do have to spend a lot of time with them, and they seem to think they need to see every piece of paperwork you have ever owned before accepting an offer, plus we had to see their blimmin mortgage advisor (they get commission on), plus they try and sell you insurance on the deal falling through, and threats to have to use their legal team (you dont). This all on the up to 3% they want charge the seller. - we haggled for a 1% fee on our house sale, then when the agreement came it said 1% but when the sale went through they charged us at their standard rate and then told me I did not understand how interest worked - anyway, I got my extra £500+ back and now really do not trust EAs.:( They should be renamed property liars)

Had a fairly productive day yesterday with DH, got the house completely cleaned ready for the weekend, took the dog for a long walk which resulted in me climbing up a hill on all fours in mud, leaves and clay with DH at the top in hysterics. Booked the dog into the vets for his booster, we rang around to check prices and are taking him somewhere different as it was £20 cheaper.

Called into Lidl and got a couple of bits - I don't find Lidl particularly cheap and I can never get everything I want so I only pop in now and again.

As many of you know we are trying to go Zero Waste here - although it is a badly named movement as anything less than Zero suggests failure, Low would be better - so was very pleased to see the programme last night about plastic, I do hope people are thinking more about what they are using. On that subject I am very much hoping my metal safety razor arrives today, I tried and tried to get one on the high street but you can buy the blades but not the razor, I am way too giddy about it and not having to buy the horrible plastic heads anymore.

The kids finished school yesterday for half term (training day today), it is dry and bright so we are donning walking boots and going onto the moors with a packed lunch then a look around the CS's in town before coming home to pizza for tea and some hm popcorn for supper.

my TFC compensation went in today. planning to save some but also want to book tickets to a dinosaur show for my sons 3rd bday. I have budgeted £50 for bday entertainment but not til April so it will balance out if I buy them now.

Apologies for not posting yesterday, password issues again.

Loved yesterdays inspiration post Mothernerd. Going to be a sand dune.

    Anyway

Yesterday activities planned changed, I got out of slime party and kids cinema, ended up on the beach with other daughter and a gorgeous puppy and gained a NSD Now up to 9.

    NSD - 9
    Food £58.03/£80
    Petrol 0/40
    ME upkeep(hair/make up)- 13/10
    Clothing 10/20
    Social - 30/50
Money gained surveys/extra income this month - £144.81
Credit card payments this mth - £383
New Blinds to paid for £224/£224 and fitted.

Hugs Kerry woman - glad everything went as expected.

Hugs all round to everyone, seems all the turtles are getting injured or down in the dumps. Speedy recovery all.

Abundant - dribbling at the thought of a cupcake. Nice to see good thoughtful people about.

I have paid off 25% of my debts today so feeling happy.

Bought a concert ticket for Gaz Coombes(Supergrass) today and I am in the front row. Something to look forward to.

Unfortunately I have a desire to alter my house and put french doors in leading to my back garden/ patio. Wanted to do this since I bought the house 8 years ago. Had a cheap quote so I might go ahead. Make the dining room more useful and I would be able to sit in the sunshine there with doors open. Will be added to my debt but think it would be worth it and because I want it so much, making me think harder about spending money.

Little or no exercise this week haven't felt up to it. Enjoyed beach walk yesterday will get back on track by Monday.

    Have a nice weekend.

GreenT I have reported it. dunno if they will do anything. Seems unusual to try & sell your product on a money saving forum :rotfl:

Banana Bread- done, House work- done. Although, lets face it, it will still look like a bomb has gone off by the time I get back home :D:rotfl:

I got a load of free paper from work which I have put in the kids craft box, :T stuff like that always comes in for rainy days.

Off to Tesco again tonight on the look out for YS bargains, I go through phases of going all the time or not going at all. but my freezer is bear and budgets tight so I need to stick with it really!!
  • Lauren I love banana bread.
