Sashanut - Stop thinking of it as a stocktake and start thinking about it as a list of stuff you won't need to put on your shopping list this week/month. it might help and you might find something amazing at the back of a cupboard. I love it when my cupboards give me presents.

greent go up the stairs backwards, you don't need bendy toes for that and it stops you squealing. I think my little toe spends more time broken than not - I am spacially challenged near door frames - I think I would do better with whiskers (on my feet?? or is that a Hobbit?)

Right, need to get on with the day, as DH has spent the last week telling me his parents are coming on Friday, when they are in fact here today. Eeek.

Excercise will be frantic cleaning and clearing and tidying before thinking s0d it and having a hot chocolate on the sofa . They were not invited, DH is working today, tomorrow,Mon and Tuesday. The kids go back to school on Monday. So they must really be here to see me. I should be flattered, so I will take all the advice from the sun

    Keep it light
    Rise to the Occasion
    Look on the bright side
    Set your sights high
    Renew your energy
    Keep a sunny disposition
    Be brilliant

and be up and out early, and retire gracefully after the evening meal

foxholes - if an estate agent finds a property you like do you actually have to pay them as well as the seller paying their fee? I am staggered if this is so. The last time I bought a house was 2002 and that wasn't the case here then.

greent - ow, ow, ow, poor you, hope it heals soon.

KerryWoman - hope today goes off without a hitch.

Had a grocery delivery last night, got 2 packs of oranges but I only ordered 1 and paid for 1 but kept both, also the bread they sent had yesterdays BB date on so the driver refunded it but I kept it.

  • Hi All -

Today is NSD ~12 - hoping I can make 14 by Sunday (Spend day Sat) would love to make 20 in total, budgets still the same.

Nothing really planned for today, other than lots and lots of tea and coffee as I am sooo tired. My one year old did a lot of chattering last night and I cannot sleep through it for the life of me.

Going to spend the weekend making & freezing tomato sauce & making bananas muffins for snacks with reduced stuff. looking forward to a chilled weekend at home :D Love a bit of baking. Might also go to pizza express with our Tesco Vouchers:T

Hope you all have a lovely day :)

Greent - ouchie!!!! Shame about the zumba - you seem doomed not to return to it! (but you can still do quite a lot of weight training exercises. Speaking from personal experience here!)

Yikes! Hold on to it very tight!
Do check out Zuzka Light's Bunny Slope workouts on utube - they are non impact ones and can be adapted to poorly toes. Some are tougher than others...

Kerry Woman - good to hear from you. Hugs. Take care of yourself.

Today I am grateful for getting us all up and out on time, for dd's eye presc not changing, for finding the perfect bundle of wool that I've been looking for for weeks, for dd finding a LPS boxed thingy in the charity shop that turned out to have never been used, for discovering the cyclamen hiding in the garden, for birdsong, for making a yummy mash from swede, sweet potato, carrot + broccoli.

Sorry for my absence. I have been reading but been preoccupied. Not sure if I said but I have an achey leg and have a pre-existing circulation issue. Last Friday, I called 111 and they sent me straight to a walk in clinic and we!!!8217;re worried about DVT. They decided to send me home but we!!!8217;re debating A&E, but decided my risk was low. The last two days the pain has intensified and sharpened so I went to the doctors today and they!!!8217;re guessing it!!!8217;s celluitis. Got antibiotics and hoping it!!!8217;ll clear up (next step is X-ray and ultrasound if not). So it!!!8217;s all just been an odd week.

Not sure on SFDs as I!!!8217;ve been buying chocolate as I crawl to half term!

    Hi all :j

Haven't done an awful lot today either although been busy all day. Mainly washing & cooking, the washing because it was a really blowy day, so could get some stuff on the line, then finish off on the creel inside. Cooking as I made soup for lunch, then made today's supper & tomorrow's - thinking ahead as will be picking DD up from the airport & will have a slow journey back due to the time she lands & the heavy traffic, so need something ready to heat up. Will make a crumble tomorrow morning as well.

Always : Will try to make sure I can make/save some money this month instead of always spending up to the max..Another NSD today.

    First : Agree

Organise : Lunch was cheese on toast with tasty soup for both of us. Plenty left. Supper was sausages, beans & LO potato & veg cakes.

Reserve : Already make a charity donation each month from joint acc. Will also set up a DD for an animal one.

Environment : Lovely blowy day which is drying up the mudbath outside, very grateful. Long may it continue.

Stock take : Still lunch & dinner all from stocks in fridges/freezer Need to stocktake all other food stocks (kitchen cupboards, pantry, larder, cellar ) will start tomorrow. When is this mythical tomorrow when I am going to inventory?? not done today either, spirit willing but flesh weak..f0xh0les thanks for the alternative way of looking at it, I do agree. Am finding lots of stuff I had forgotten we had - and of course bought more..

Takeaways are forbidden (unless as part of family entertainment night/ birthday choice). Coffee shops, vending machines, works canteens etc are also banned (pastoral exceptions): Not planning on any takeaways, too much food here to need any.

Always take your lunch to work and snacks and drinks for outings or appointments: will do. Out tomorrow so will eat before we go and after we come back! Have prepped food so no temptation to get a takeaway

Do something different. If nothing changes, nothing changes. We want to see small positive changes which become habits and then just part of who you are. Pick 2 or 3 things you want to change. Start with one small change and after five successful days, add another: Surface still clear but still the only one!! Cleared another very large surface & also under sink space, yuk.. Looks far better though & now its needs to stay clear, have warned DH. Cleared large surface again & will need ladder to return lots of flasks (?) to very large up cupboards..

Valentine Who? : Card only for DH, already have. Got YS flowers yesterday, they look lovely & I can use them as my Valentines, no need to get any more..gave sickly Valentine card to DH who thought it was OK, given he said what was on offer in the shops..he asked me if I wanted to go out for a meal, but I politely refused. Will re-use Valentine card next year, must make a note of where stashed..

Exercise 5 times a week please: Could well be gardening or clearing, cleaning etc but will aim to be active. Active most of day.

NSDs are staying at 18 this month: NSD today so now 8/18

Big push on this, much clearing needs to be done but refuse to toss useful stuff, will freecycle or CS - but preferably sell! Have photos ready to list now, will list this weekend. Message from DD that she wants to sell stuff when she gets back, yes indeed we can both do that!

Use what you have. Fix something : Have some knobs on drawers cupboard etc in bedroom that have come adrift. Need superglueing or I have already bought 4 new ones if not fixable. Not done yet. Maybe will need to buy more outside paint, the one I used was rubbish...Cord that open curtains has broken, have to get up ladder to try & see how to fix it. Need DH to hold ladder as ceilings so high. Took photo of pulley effort from upstairs so I can see how to bodge the downstairs one. DH fixed hoover from where I inadvertently sucked up a plastic bag. Used risotto rice & almond milk for rice pudding, surprisingly nice..although not cost effective in the long term I shouldn't think. Have used 'glutinous rice' mountain for rice pudding, seemed to work fine. That would be cost effective as have probably 2 large bags..Tried to fix curtain track as DH held ladder but too tricky & high up to manage without moving furniture...and taking down massive curtains. Will do.

    Refuel properly:
Will do this, already am taking some steps to improve health & sleep patterns. Taking supplements now & bedtime tea, seems to be working. Tea combined with pillow spray etc got me to sleep, no bother, just have to remember to make tea an hour before bed. Hmm did all right until opened a can of peanuts. Really shouldn't.

Elephants and Frogs: Frog printer tackled today & is now working, albeit intermittently. Elephant - sorted out some of DHs old polo shirts that will only be ragged at CS but that's fine, he won't wear them again as he found some that actually fitted him & never wears the old ones.

Frogs: Under sink space cleared out. other frogs on hold.

Thanks mothernerd for running the challenge, it is very much appreciated even though I am not a model turtle pupil yet

Blame Snoopy, not me. Kat will come flying in to shake us all up in a minute.

    I've been hiding from exercise.
I'm in the Fitness Protection Programme.

    I'm retired
I was tired yesterday and I'm tired again today.

    I'm not lazy.
Someone just stole my motivation....... I'm the victim here.

Will buck up soon, just struggling a little bit. Practicing left handed stuff and have dispatched a large sack of filing (more to come). Bed is a mess as I have just gone round and retrieved all the things that have fallen off the bed/ out of boxes during the tidying process. Good news is that I thought there were 3 more boxes (shallow trays) of paperwork on the far side of the bed but there were only empty boxes. Much box shuffling going on and throwing away. I have had enough - it's got to go.

Today I am grateful for binmen - they were late today and only turned up as I got back from crafts (walked there and back but so tired and needed painkillers - trying to limit them and wait as long as possible into the day before taking them). I waited for them to bring the bin back and thanked the nearest one for "everything you do" (lots of binmen/Council bashing atm). He asked which was my bin and which was my house and took it to the gate for me.

Grateful for crafts and for all the lovely things we were given - it's so nice to have things to choose from and not scrimp and scrape all the time). Helped make a birthday card and two new baby congratulations cards. Person who was in crisis last week was much happier but did not make anything - then asked why she had nothing to take home at the end.

Grateful for finding my small diary (have the large desk one) - I have two appointments next week (+ cinema club), one in March and have today receieved a letter to book a physio appointment. Still waiting for the CBT counselling appointment (I'm beating mum atm - she's doing so well that the frequency of her appointments is going down).

Still not cracked the sleeping/ pain management formula. If I took the full dose I would sleep blissfully all day and night but never get anything done. I have sorted some work tasks that will keep me going without putting too much pressure on my arm and shoulder. Need to adjust my techniques as well. Will decide at the end of the tax year if I can carry on my business (lower productivity?)/ reduce to 16 hours or have to give it up.

Hugs to all the injured turtles - Fmess you need to be very careful with cellulitis. The first time DS2 had it, I kept urging him to go to the doctor (I have eczema and dermatitis and react badly to grass and insect bites, the boys' father has psoriasis - if I don't recognise a rash you need to see the doctor). He had just started university so had not registered there - when he went he was sent to the hospital straight away, he would have been dead within 3 hours.

Have a good day turtles, the weekend is nearly here.
