Our fixed energy deal finishes in December too but we are with British Gas who were doing the cheapest fixed rate dual fuel at the time. We were with PFP before who I think have gone bust now. As @badmemory says it may be best to stay on the standard rate rather than fixing again.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Martin seems to be updating/mentioning this every week in his programme. At least he has no axe to grind on this, unlike so many. The energy companies will try to persuade you to fix.

We are with Outfox the Market and are fully expecting them to go under at some point.
Our monthly DD (dual fuel) has gone from £60 to £95 and that is with their cheap rates. If they go under and we are switched to another supplier I expect that will double 🤔
I am thankful that we can afford the rises. I really don't know how some will manage 😕4 -
I wish my fuel bill was that small. I pay £118 a month at the moment but am expecting it to at least double. Scottish Power wanted to put it up to £172 a month last year despite being in credit which is why I changed supplier. I won’t sit there freezing cold so will have to suck up any rises in rates.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

It takes hardly any heating.
We are the same, we won't sit cold either. We will pull the money from somewhere else to pay for any price rises.4 -

I think we have got away with the increases fairly lightly as ours has gone up from £90 to £124 and that was at the beginning of October and we did owe them a little so our old dds were a bit low.
