Well I bet you’re all glad that Boots saga is over 🤣🤣
I feel like I’m spending my week off just walking about and not achieving much. I really should’ve made a list. I did hit 20k steps again today though. I’m back at work for a week on Monday then I break up again for another week, although that’s when the plasterer/painter starts so won’t be going out much in the day. However it could be a good chance to get some house/garden jobs done. I really need to paint the fence down the drive. The cat has set up residence in the greenhouse, she comes in for food then is back to her second home. Mr SA is moaning because she’s taken over his chair 😆
Lots of garden produce ready now - spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, courgettes, chilli, basil, coriander and thyme. Shame Mr SA forgot to plant the aubergine seeds.@Cherryfudge Jaws finally produced a flower close enough to smell and it was a normal rose scent. Shame the petals fall off after a couple of days but there are lots of buds coming up.Plan for tomorrow is a trip to Lidl, they’ve sent me a voucher for £5 off £25 so would be rude not to take advantage. I know how to live, who needs to go to Ibiza or Greece where I’d normally be this time of year 🤣 Me ☹️ 😢I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Glad you got your Boots points sorted, I hate it when the tech lets you down and it's happened to me in a smaller way a couple of ties recently. I have no idea how much is on my Boots card but nothing like £56.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Staycation Day 4 ☀️A beautiful day today. Not done much really, have spent a lot of time on my sun lounger reading my book. Well I am on holiday after all.
Not all fun and games, went to Lidl this morning, got quite a good haul with the £5 off, plenty of meat in the freezer for Mr SA now. It’s a fair walk from our house so was a tad miffed when Mr SA suggested dropping off the shopping and the dog and going straight up to a large garden centre about 2 miles away. Needless to say we didn’t go, I was determined to have at least one day where I got to put my feet up in the sun and not trekking for miles and miles. We’ll go tomorrow morning though.
Tonight’s dinner is lightly dusted lemon and parsley yellowfin sole with beetroot and swede chips, steamed tender stem broccoli and mangetout. None of which is home grown 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -

Happy Friday 🥂🥳
Last day of my staycation. Not too bad as this time next week I’ll be breaking up ready for the next one 😁
Going to the big garden centre today. Not taking the dog, I hate leaving her at home but she’ll be a pain when we’re trying to look round. I’ve got enough to handle with Mr SA and his scooter. It’s a shame as it would be a really good walk for her. She’ll have to make do with the park across the road before we set off. DD isn’t at work today so she won’t be on her own.
I’ve really been out of my routine this week, no running, no workouts, no NSDs, not done much cleaning and not looked at the finances. I’ve done a lot of steps though, been on my feet most of the time rather than sitting at my desk and not gone over budget. The garden is tidier too, filled the garden waste bin the day it was emptied. The dog was a pain in the night, she’s discovered she likes to sleep on the window seat but this means she’s growling at everything that moves. Next door but one’s cat was sat on their wall staring up at the dog defiantly which was setting her off. I ended up having to move the box she uses to get up there, it’s too high for her to jump up without it.Have a good one 😊I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Poor dog, spoiling her fun 😁
Ours licks her legs in the night…nibble, nibble, slurp, slurp. I can ignore it, but it drives MrWW mad. He throws pillows at her and shouts and wakes me and the cats up! He also lobs cushions at her when she snores….I’ve been threatening to do the same to him and pretend it’s the dog 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

And that’s my week off over.Have had a really nice day today. Took the dog on the park, dropped her off home then off we went to the garden centre. It wasn’t as close as I thought, just over 3 miles, I really should’ve worn trainers and not strappy gold sandals but hey ho 😬 Went straight to the cafe for a much needed coffee and spotted the most amazing cream scone I’ve ever seen. I’m not usually tempted by cakes but couldn’t resist it. It was delicious, so fresh and with fresh strawberries 🍓😋
Managed to buy a handbag, only I could find a handbag in a garden centre 🤣 It was so nice and I don’t have a blue handbag - I don’t think so anyway, might have to check my wardrobe 🤔 It has a fabulous strap, I love it.
We did actually buy some plants, a water lily (not cheap at £21.99) and a couple of grass type plants for the bottom end of the garden where we have a bit of a beach theme going. Also made the first Christmas present purchase, got a wooden crate for DS that I’m going to fill with bottles of beer, he’ll like that.
We stopped off for lunch on the way back but I wasn’t really hungry after the huge scone, it was only a feta cheese and roast veg ciabatta but the cheese wasn’t that nice so left most of it.So it’s been a rather spendy day but a good one.Got back home and sat in the very warm sunshine in the garden reading.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
