We had a skip a few weeks ago, and Mr Redo actually embraced the idea and only took 20% of it back out. Its usually a 'row in the room' job so I bit my tongue. I think it is really hard to do, for me my comparator is accepting that (despite not being old, you know) I cant read hard copy books without my glasses and actually I only read in bed or the bath minus glasses. I'm ok with the idea of kindle now, but I hate exiting the hard copies. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I hope you feel better soon, SA.
I'm rubbish at throwing things out, I really hate seeing things broken/wasted/destroyed. My favourite programme is 'Repair Shop'! I get very distressed at destruction. Why I'm different from the rest of the world, I've no idea.
I also have too many clothes but I'm working on that one. One year I decided against buying new socks and pants till I'd worn out a few of the ones I had. I hardly wore out a single pair in twelve months! Over a few years I've made progress in that direction and am now buying better quality ones occasionally rather than cheap and cheerful ones to 'treat' myself. I also Kon Marie'd my sock collection at one point which means I now only have ones that I like, and that's nice. Lastly, I joined the fabulous 'Fashion on the Ration' challenge elsewhere on these boards, which is excellent company as well as a good discipline - war time clothing was rationed so we each get 66 virtual coupons to spend on textiles each year and each type of garment has a cost in coupons - so a pair of ankle socks costs a coupon, a full length coat costs 14 coupons. 66 coupons don't go far, though second hand items are coupon free. It's also encouraging me to knit from my stash not buy (too much) new yarn.
( I still have more clothing than I need, of course - I'm in this for the long haul!)I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Fashion on the Ration 2025: Fabric 2, men's socks 3, Duvet 7.5, 2 t-shirts 10, men's socks 3, uniform top 0, hat 0, shoes 5 = 30.5/68
2024: Trainers 5, dress 7, slippers 5, 2 prs socks (gift) 2, 3 prs white socks 3, t-shirts x 2 10, 6 prs socks: mostly gifts 6, duvet set 7.5 = 45.5/68 coupons
20.5 coupons used in 2020. 62.5 used in 2021. 94.5 remaining as of 21/3/228 -
@Cherryfudge I love that challenge! My clothes last for years and I hate throwing anything out, so have challenged myself not to buy more (I just need to slim into a lot 😖)
SA I hope you feel better soon. I had a slight sore arm from 1 and nothing at all from 2, but my husband had everything going...it really seems so random.
